While watching the 1974 original version of this movie, I spotted this 3rd Gen with interesting stripes... was this ever an option?

That's one of my favorites in the movie! I don't know why but I LOVE the paint!

Here's a bit more on it and more photos:

Hey Tan Top, I don't know why, but the third Charger down on that picture posted reminds me of the '70 Buick GSX

Considering I looked at a '70 GSX in my garage for 2 years with my Charger, I can see what you mean. It's the way the side stripes go up and over the rear spoiler that makes it look like one ;) :yesnod:

I wouldn't worry. It was in a movie. Somewhere, somehow, someone has built a screen-correct clone of it and dropped a trash hauler on it to complete the look. Probably several somebodies, unless I miss my guess.

2 questions...isnt the green charger a 71? and how are you able to capture a screen shot of a movie?? please explain...

Nacho-RT74

yes is a 71, and the yellow one looks like 72 SE

2nd question, maybe making PRINT SCREEN ?

There's also a dark red 68 earlier in the chase. HemiTom, some versions of powerdvd actually have a screencap button. i use it lots for taking refs of movie cars. just play the movie on your computer with PowerDVD and pause at the right spot and press 'capture'. i've set mine in the options to save to a BMP in my pictures folder.
