In WA state they require you to buy new plates on your car every 7 years. Supposedly reflective coating wears out on them.... :icon_bs:
Is it just nazi WA state or your guys states do that too?

Apparently, California just hasn't heard about that scam yet. We got some crazy revenue gathering regulations, but not that one.

Texas gives you new plates every 5 years.  I suppose I am paying for them each year through the registration fees.

So do you get to keep your old lisence plate number ?

It should be a enforce only as needed deal . :Twocents:

That definitely sounds like an idea your Nazi, Commie, election-stealing governor would come up with.

Who, me?

Florida every few years also.  :yesnod: You don't pay more they just swap them out.

Every couple of years Georgia finds some reason to change the design on the tag requiring everyone to update. Never know when they are going to do it.

SC does the same thing.  Every few years a new design.  They don't use stamped tags anymore for regular plates.  It's like a vinyl wrap now.  I have the same year as mfg. tags on my 68-70 cars though so at least we can still have those if you can find decent ones left.
