holy crap, i was not expecting that much. is anyone interested in it that i should go take some pictures to see if mine fit that criteria?

c00nhunterjoe

ok, i took some pictures,i do have the headlight door for the first grill, it isnt pictured as i have it in a box so i dont damage it since the vaccum motor is gone from that side. opinions on what each one is worth and any potential offers are appreciated.

here is the first grill-

and this is the second grill-

Winged 1

Looks to me like they both would fail the good shape test..
But there are some usable parts..

Yeah no really high dollar parts there but they would sell.

Maybe you would profit more from using pieces of both to make one 100% grille?

Also a little cleaning on the dirty areas and light sanding and repainting with some rustoleum black or other spray on the areas with surface rust will do wonders for making them presentable/sellable.

these grills havnt been touched in over 20 years. i wasnt worried about making them presentable for these pics, just wanted to show that they are basicly 100% there, the 1st grill has only that small damage to the nose, other then that she is crack free, just dirty.

I was under the impression that 99% meant 99% restored.....No...that one isn't worth 1500 bucks, but I'd say what you have there may be worth 4 or 5 hundred bucks.   (Psssst......mine is near perfect and I paid 100 bucks for it.....another steal, badging, headlight doors and all...)

Usually the grills in that shape are going to bring $300-$600. Restored grills or really nice originals are around $1,200. I'd say $1,500 is the exception these days.

You'd think for 1800 bucks it would include the Charger and RT emblems  :shruggy:

Hello All,

A couple of the other posts here are dead on. I was under the impression it was restored and clean. The recommendation of using parts from each to make one nice grill assembly, cleaning and polishing the bright work could bring $1000.....maybe more but it would have to be tight, right and ready to install. Good luck.

Most likely you're referring to the auction I mentioned one page back on this thread. If it was a legitimate auction, which I doubt, I would expect a price that high to be the exception, not the rule.

Silver R/T

well with the factor of parts and labor that price is reasonable and someone who has money to restore their Charger right and no time/skills to work on it that would be perfect. I know I've got over $900 into mine. Of course I've done all the labor and I did a lot of repair work to it. Considering labor costs and parts costs that's decent price.
