Challenger nose question

A guy recently offered to sell me his 1972 Dodge Challenger. I've always wanted a Challenger but the year I have always wanted was the 1970 model. Since the 1970 models are so expensive I was just wondering if it is possible to change the nose of a 1972 Challenger over to a 1970 Challenger nose and if so, is there any metal work involved or is it just a matter of swapping out parts? Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, sorry if I wasn't clear but when I said 'nose' I meant the frot bumper, grille, and headlights. Thanks!

It can't be too difficult I know of at least two brain dead stoners locally that have done it.  There may be a third but it could also be one of the other two sold his wreck to stoner number 3.

Thanks for the quick reply. Your answer made me laugh out loud. In all seriousness I'm really wondering how easy it is to do this. If anybody has any other input I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

As far I know there are kits available of all the stuff to make the conversions on laters

The question is how close to a 70 do you really want to be?  If you just want to do the front, your bigget trouble is going to be welding or fastening the headlight buckets to the front fender housing.  After that, it should be fairly simple.  However, to be completely correct, (from an exterior standpoint), you will need to replace the taillight panel, and weld in 70/71 side marker light housing ho;es, then get the sidemarker housings and lenses.  There are A LOT of other things you would have to do to get this by as a 70/71 if you start opening hoods and trunks, but the above would make it look like one from the outside.  Hope this helps.

I have the exact same swap in process now.  If the car needs new quarters etc just order '70 parts. The fenders and tailpanel are being reproduce now too. My car was hit years ago and a previous owner started doing the swap so it seemed like the way to go.

The grill and bezels, tailpanel, marker lights, and misc trim will need to be swapped. I found a junk '70 for most of the parts.

As mentioned the interior has many differences too but for all practical purposes in a driver type car it would not be noticed by most people.
