THE CHARGER PUNK

  according to JR

That one for the auction is the TEST car they used before mine. They jumped it for that particular scene, but it went all wrong and nose dived into the concrete and they didn't like it. Therefore they used MY car for the same shot. It jumped and FLEW perfect and landed flat. therefore ALL the camera shots you see of that jump in the show are of MY car and ONLY of my car.

They catapulted an empty car for the second attempt at the courthouse.

AKA the "holy sh*t" jump, right? :icon_smile_big:

Just keep remembering the long-term impact.  Not many 14yo kids are ever going to see "Bullitt" or "Vanishing Point" anymore.

Makes me sick to see them end up like that for enjoyment. IMHO. No offense.

One slight thing that stands out to me from this being a tv car, is the crossing flags rebel flag. Theres didn't have white border all the way around them. Just the center parts had the white.

Neal_J

Wait a minute.  Isn't that Jeff's car,  pre-BK???

What's with the HEMI? And why does that R/T-S/e have a hitch?
I'd rather die than go to heaven.

if that's the guy from Kansas' R/T SE it was shipped to the movie set for them to use in the movie(yeah a R/T SE.. real smart). they didn't touch the car and it sat in the back of the lot until filming was over and it was shipped back to Kansas.. it was never touched or used. only his other car got used. essentially it's just an older general lee clone probably done back in the 80's/early 90's.

Yes the car is RT/SE  before you go insulting someone by saying they are not so smart.. The car was believed to be used in the field scene because they needed a General that looked distressed already, this came from John Wiser himself along with the other 2 mechanics said the car went on the hauler to the set. which explained why it was covered in mud when we arrived to watch filming, also there where various parts missing such as upper door pads Glovebox door etc. etc.

i wasn't insulting anyone. i simply said "real smart" for someone to send a real R/T SE to a movie set to potentially be destroyed. As far as Wiser, i was there almost every day with him, and watched the cars on a daily basis, i think i'd remember if that car ever moved out of the back lot, let me think.. nope it didn't.. believed to be used in the field scene? was that a sneaky way of someday advertising the car as movie used?? weak. the "field scene" cars were all "distressed" specifically for that shot... beat up fenders, busted back glasses etc, the R/T SE was just a distressed old general lee. it was never touched.
In fact it was because of John i was able to get the wrecked General that i bought. he was super cool, and let me hang out every day that i had time to go up there.

as a side note, there is no telling which car they borrowed the pads and interior parts for.. they bought a ton of stuff from me, and i ended up with LOTS of parts off of the cars as filming went along from the mechanics, including all 26 older 10 spokes from the set, 2 of those being authentic WB TV stamped wheels from the series. i had a couple of those "distressed" fenders as well.

when we arrived that was the story given to us we were not there for all of the filming the RTSE was missing those Parts that i mentioned above, I was not sneaking anything in there that was what the mechanics and Wiser himself said.

GL#10

Hey

I see GL #127 was ebay recently and only made $6100  , anyone know what happened with the Cali Auction with Travis F  old freeway jump car , anyone hear of a price it made out there ????

I have been following the prices of the movie cars since 2005 , and to me they will never ever come close to what the T.v series Gl's have brought and will bring in the future .
