what motor mounts are you running? i have broken 3 in the last 2 months and i have no more spares. what do you guys run and where do you get them?

Hot_Rodder

Though the motor isn't in the car yet, I bought a set of locking motor mounts. You can build a set to do the same thing cheaper than you can buy them for.... I read a thread somewhere on how to convert a regular set of replacement motor mounts into a locking set using grade 8 bolts, drill, drill bit, and a couple of other things but could never find it again.... Try making a set of stock type motor mounts into a locking set, save you some $$$, and you can say you did it yourself.... :Twocents:

This seems to be the best method (and the thread that Hot_Rodder was talking about). I did this with my mount and it was easy and only $2 extra for the bolts/nuts!

i was going to drill them anyway if i cant find a decent priced poly mount. i will be using standard hex head bolts though. i have an abundance of them here.

I don't know how much of a difference there will be, but I used the flat head bolts mentioned in the thread and clearance was CLOSE when it came time to mount the engine up if I remember right, so I would make sure on the clearance.
