Some hinges are a bit tight. I had a helluva time with the drivers bottom.. finally got it together and in only 3-4 tries it snapped the flange of the bushing off.. :brickwall:

Spread a little , squeeze a little. It will go. May need to grind some too.

There are two ways to rebuild the lower hinges. They sell a kit that has a bigger pin,and the pin and bushing style. If your gonna put a bushing where there wasn't one before ,there will be some clearancing necessary. IMHO the amount of spreading or grinding is just fine because I would rather there were bushings in it than a bigger pin that takes you bake to steel on steel.  :Twocents:

Edited because of my "smart" phone. More like smart a$$ phone.

I had the same thing happen.I just lightly grinded here and there. And them they fit,I figured I screwed up some where. But all it go now. :2thumbs:

I didn't have any problems with the napa kit I bought, both sides went easy as pie....  :shruggy:

The pins  I got were from napa, it was a small adjust I made. I would buy them again.

Ok here is what I did there is an outer and inner hinge. The bushings went in the inner hinge. The sholders on the bushings prevented it from fitting in the outer hinge. I cut the inner hinge part way at a right angle to the pin axes. This alowed me to squeeze it together. After it fit right I welded it up and ground smooth.

Sounds like you did fine. I did a combination of grinding and slight amount of bend on the outer hinge, not enough to stray movement but enough to fit over those bushings.

1st time I had this done I took to a machine shop and they countersunk the inner hinge holes.
