Stripped hood hinge nuts

Those threaded blocks that are inside the hood are stripped. Two of them that is. The hood hinges mount to them. I'm thinking my only choice is to pull the hood, drill and tap them for a larger 3/8" thread. Anybody else run into this?
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

Just thought I would add that I fixed the two that were stripped with the 5/16" heli-coil kit.

One problem I ran into was the tool used for threading the coils in. That diamond shaped handle won't clear the edge of the hood. So, I used a 2 foot length of 5/16" allthread instead. Just had to grind one end of it to resemble that special tool.
