Outdoor Landscape Projects?

So summer is almost over... has anyone here done any outdoor landscape projects you want to show off?

I changed the exterior and outdoor layout at the house to open up the yard by closing off the current enterance, moved some schrubs on the right to the old enterance to make a new bank, then make a smaller road on that bank out to the alternate road a bit farther down and give it more crub appeal... and put up a ranch style fence.

Here is what it looked like back in 2007:

Pic 1: Sketched plans to re-do the road (and add a walk around deck with a gazebo).

Pic 2: Filled in the old driveway, moved schrubs to the new bank, opened up the yard.

Pic 3: Opened the new driveway on the property boundary, erected a ranch style fence (that will be painted white) with 10ft posts (3ft in-ground) and 10ft boards spaced 1ft apart.

I tore down my old shed

We added a solar heater system to the pool.

Then, I tore down the playhouse.

Then my wife and I excavated for about a 12X16 patio slab.
My brother and I framed up the forms

and I had a friend of his come pour the pad and stamp it.

Then, my wife and I put up a new shed.

This is a flash file showing the shed going up. i took a picture after every panel. I'm just holding the camera each time, as opposed to having it on a tripod, but it worked out okay, I think.

After digging up the dirt for the pad, we then moved it another 5 or 6 feet and made a small berm and planted some ground cover and low growing plants. I wish we had thought of that while we were digging the first time.  :P
We still need to put up a screen to cover the hoses for the pool solar heater.
This picture doesn't really show the size of the berm very well - the angle makes it look very low, but in reality it is about a foot and a half high. Yeah, still low for "berm" status, but it works. We have since filled in all the way around the berm with river stone nd the grass has grown in already.

It turned out to be a nice cool breezy day so we put up 30 more feet of fence.

Is there any video of you working on anything of practical value yourself or do you just video/photo people doing the work for you, and people driving by, and yourself listening to your ex girlfriend, etc.?

Also, it's odd that you have video of every excruciatingly dull moment of your life on youtube (which I thankfully have seen very little of) and yet no one has seen this $25,000 fake robot you allegedly purchased. What gives?

C'mon lets not pick on a guy, Im sure everyone has made mistakes in their life.

Making mistakes is part of life and they are a good way to learn, adapt and evolve. But some people never learn anything from mistakes, and often don't even know they are making them or care. Albert Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Back on topic again. I've done a lot of landscaping, pretty much everything except sprinkler system at my house. Got vinyl fence up, dug out all the weeds with my brother, tilled and leveled yard, got sprinkler system installed, seeded front and back.

While I was on vacation a week ago I built a 8x10 sand box for the daughter.  I had old walking planks off our railroad bridge when they redid it. A few nails later and I had a frame.

A trip to the sand pit and 12$ cash later...............2 yards on the back of Old Red

An hour or so later of shoveling and moving it in a wheel barrow to the back yard...........

The sandbox!!!

I wish I had taken some video to put on Youtube for Bull! Sorry Bull!   :icon_smile_big:

Bummer. Maybe you can film the family having dinner tonight. :2thumbs:

Those kids love the sandboxes but now you're going to have to make sure she doesn't find "treasures" left by stray cats. :o

the beginning or the end?

Quick question: is there another kind of landscaping other than "outdoor" landscaping? :shruggy: Isn't that kind of an obvious type of redundancy like "front grill" or "previous history?" Just asking.
