Hey Guys need some help.

Will 72 fenders fit on a 73 or do I need to change other parts as well?

Thanks,

TJ

posible, yes, perfect match outside and even some inside parts.

PERFECT COMPLETE MATCH ? no... doesn't match with radiator core suppor bolting points, one of the inner fenders bolts location AND splash shield with valence is tottally diff.

will be nice if you don't have options but...Do you need them for a 73 ? get the 73, they are easier... and get the 72 fender for sale... I bet you'll find a buyer, and that will cover the next 73 fenders.

WHAT ?

yes IT DOES FIT. on exterior is a perfect body lines and shapes match.

is true wheel opening is a bit lower cut on top on 71/72s ( about 1 and a half inch ) BUT doesn't affect when mounting.

The profile at door is the same.

Sorry budy I hate to tell you that you are wrong. Ask AKcharger what does have a 72 rallye with one 73 fender. Has been made lot of times. Not the best solution but a solution at the end.

Myself removed a 71 fender from a 73 down here in Venezuela when parting out a 73.

fender "Dog Leg" patch panels being made and sold are the same from 71s up 74s

If you didn't made, you had another problem

im sorry but something must be wrong then, i took a fender from a 73 and tried it on my 72 and the fit was all wrong where it meet the door, and the wheel opening was wrong not by much but enough. :shruggy: i cant teel what was wrong since it was 5 years ago but i strightly remeber it as not being good. thers a possibility that i skrewed up somehow at the time fenders for chargers was not easy to come by here in copenhagen. henrik

dude it just hit me maybe a 72 fender vill fit a 73 but ive tried fitting a 73 on a 72 and that dident work, so maybe thats where we misunderstood each other. the question was if a 72 fender will fit a 73 ive never tryed that only the other way around :scratchchin:

Nacho-RT74

both fit in both ways, trust me ;)

you could get some damaged fender or some went wrong, but is a fact that does fit.

as stated, internally will have some issues, like radiator core support bolting points not matching, and front splash shield ( and attaching areas ) are totally different.

ok then it might have been a damaged fender then becouse i remeber it being all wrong but it was many years ago and like i said it wasent easy finding a fender in europe at the time at all. at that time i think i was the only one in copenhagen to have a 72 charger. but now i see 3 gen more than 2 gen becouse they are cheaper to buy and it is still a charger and in my opinion sadly overlooked :2thumbs:

What are you talking about Nacho, no way will a '73/74 finder fit a '72, the body lines would be waaaay off, you could tell in a heartbeat  ;)
