opinions on rockers....

i think i may finally take the plunge and get rid of the stock rockers. i am playing budget build of course and while i like the harland sharps i dont want to spend that kind of money right now. i am looking at the proform rockers as my friend has them on his 440 with no issues, i am trying to figure out what they mean by "non-bushed with roller tip" where as the harland sharps are listed as "full roller"

i was also toying with the idea of the comp cams rockers, they are listed as full roller and use the ball on ball pushrods so i wouldnt have to buy new pushrods with them, a savings of about 75 bucks or so.


open to suggestions and opinions

the full roller means that there is a roller bearing in the rocker that rides on the rocker arm shafts.  non bushed means there is no bushing where it rides  on the shaft it would be aluminum against steel like a crane rocke. i personally wouldnt run a chinese rocker arm but its your car to do with as you please.

ah, i'm not too keen on steel on aluminum, steel will win that fight.  i guess its down to the harland sharps or the comp cams rockers.

The Crane/Isky ductile iron rockers are basicly bulletproof. If you are running a flat tappet cam with less than .600 lift at the valve they are impossible to beat from a durability/price standpoint.

Harland Sharp is a top shelf product but you really only need those with roller cams that require big spring pressures. I bought my Sharps knowing that i would upgrade to a Roller someday.

are the isky's a true roller rocker? or just an adjustable standard rocker? the description from summit leaves a bit to be desired.

I'm going with the Comp Pro Magnums on my build.  I prefer Steel over aluminum on a street driven car.
