Loving my r/t

I have a 2006 R/T that is a little louder than my wife likes.  Has anyone had any success with an exhaust silencer?  or should I get a new wife?

Can you set up a poll so we can all vote on this one? :icon_smile_big:

Welcome to the board.  What exhaust are you running now?  Stock?

Loud? What is she used to? I'm reasonably certain that any sort of "silencer" will also reduce power. You could possibly switch to a different type of muffler. My friend has an SRT-8 300 which is reasonably quiet (to me) so, perhaps, there's a difference in the exhaust between models. :shruggy: It's probably easier to just go easy on the throttle though.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

If the stock silenzers are too loud, change wife  :D
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

Are you sure its the stock exhaust?  The stock system has a large "suitcase" muffler that is in the center of the car and 2 resonators at each tip.

The '06 R/T exhaust is not loud at all.....base R/T's got a pretty tame muffler.....trim levels (R&T package, SRT, Daytona) all got different suitcases)

This is my stock exhaust on my '08 Daytona.......pretty throaty for a stock system.

Does the wife complain about the noise level when you drive it or when she drives it?
