Terrible movie but at the end in the final scene, that's definitely a 2nd gen in the background....

Odds are that they're real cop cars, or at least they were.

Hollywood car suppliers have been buying old cruisers in batches from the LAPD & CHP for decades.

Were chargers ever used as cop cars?

I bought the movie a few years ago, and think it is one of the funiest movies I have. My kids love it too. It's the fact it's so cheesy that makes it good. But ya, there are several scenes with the Charger cop cars in them.

Oops, I was thinking this was a modern movie and assuming it had a 2006 Charger cop car in it.

Landonsrt

I turned that on today when it was on AMC. I couldnt get past the cornyness and William H Macy. And pee wee herman flying around. Guess I should have stuck it out. (For the charger shot)

I saw it in the theaters when it came out and watched it on AMC this am too.

Cheesy is right.

The 2nd gen that I saw was right at the end.
