#4. 1969 Dodge Charger from "The Dukes of Hazzard"
Though the General Lee, Bo and Luke Duke's pet name for their Hemi Orange Dodge Charger, regularly thwarted the authorities, it couldn't escape the laws of physics. It's hard to find an exact figure for the number of cars the show's stunt crew wrecked while the series was on the air, but estimates range from 301 to 329. Built as a race car in the show, the General Lee boasted a full roll cage, massive "01" livery on both sides of the car and the signature Confederate battle flag on the roof. The car was as central to "The Dukes of Hazzard" as any main character, and the production crew broke a number of jump records during filming.

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I dont understand why that ugly batmobile would be #1. The general is ten times more popular!! And better looking. whats up with the Vista Cruiser from that 70's show being third??????

Yeah I agree the GL is best looking, probably more popular....but the most "memorable" I think most folks (the ones voting/compiling this list)  would say batmobile off the top of there heads.

lets see, yep batmobile would be on my list. Plus the magnum pi car, oh and the cool one from the munsters along with general lee. Def not that kit car though. Lame stuff. I don't know if I could come up with 10 cars to be honest from TV shows. Now movies, thats a different story.

Landonsrt

yeah i came around way after that batmobile. Never have had any love for it or the corny show. Im sorry, just not my taste.  Now the batmobile from the 1989 movie, Now we're talkin!!! Of course this is about tv show cars so I guess this one doesnt count.

A383Wing

Holy Crap Batman!!!

(I remember everyone of those cars on TV)
  :eyes:

bull

I'd think the Fall Guy's Chevy pickup would have made the list before the Miami Vice Ferrari and the "That '70s Show" wagon.

Yeah good points and that newer Batmobile was well done for the times.  It would still be cool today.

The 1989 batmobile was a bit too stylized and the current one is a bit too utilitarian.  IMHO they should try to strike some kind of medium there.

Of course, IMHO that idea goes for the entire movies of 1989 and now, too.

Hell yeah!! That big old jacked up GMC was my favorite truck as a kid. I can still remember the intro where its making a huge jump into traffic! What about that car from Hardcastle and McCormack?  What was that car anyway? The original Daytona Ferrari was much better in Vice than that other pile! I was so shocked as a kid watching them bolw that car up! I then watched a few years ago and you can plainly tell its not a ferrari that gets blown up. As the article states..

First season:  A Manta Montage kit-car on a beetle chassis.  Slightly modified.

Other two seasons:   A very fugly kitbashed DeLorean dressed up as the same car.

They didnt admit to any changes in the storyline.  The official story the producers gave the media was that the Judge didn't like climbing in & out of the Mantas, but rumor has it that McLaren was pissed about the earlier car.  (The original Manta kit car that they started with is an obvious knockoff of a McLaren racecar.)

:slap: :brickwall: :rotz:    So, they're saying that more people would know the wagon from that 70's show than the GENERAL LEE ?  WTF !!!!!   The world knows the General lee.   I think that wagon ranks up there with the Duster from married with children.
skip68, A.K.A. Chuck \ 68 Charger 440 auto\ 67 Camaro RS (no 440)       FRANKS & BEANS !!!

I'm shocked that Spencer for Hire's Mustang wasn't on the list?  :icon_bs: Gen Lee shoulda been #1. :2thumbs:

Have you ever noticed Al Bundy always referred to it as a "Dodge" even though it was a Plymouth Duster?

I think the Monkeemobile was cool for it's day... as well as Grandpa Munsters Drag-U-La. Should have made the list before the vista Cruiser from the 70's show

Well, the whole list is obviously slanted towards the current TV market.

(Agreed, the monkeymobile would be a serious oversight on a timeless list.  They didn't use it onscreen that often but it was a big fixture in the car culture of the time.  All those model kits, etc.)

Brian in GA

I'd HAVE to have the 'Cuda from "Nash Bridges," the Dodge Ram from "Simon and Simon," and didn't Mannix drive a Dart?

The top 3 on that list suck.
