Have you ever been OUTSIDE USA at least once in your life ?

what you read... I'm wondering because at least 60% of ppl I know down here has visited some other part in the world DIFFERENT than his own country. I know USA is HUGE and maybe change from state to state lis like go from one country to another in several parts of the world, but still...

I did know from Cali to Pensilvania and then went back to Cali, but not using same route. I know ( If I can say that   ) at least 19 States of USA, some of them just on a quick pass, but have been there.

I mean because after this, I'll have to ask another questions about.

Well, I've been to Canada.   

That's another country. 

I have been off the North American continent twice though.

First was to Hawaii (still the same country) back in 1987, and then to New Zealand in 2007.

I've also made multiple coast to coast trips across the USA.

From Alaska to Georgia and then back to Alaska two years later.

Lots to see, and I think you're right in pointing out that the USA is such a large country that sometimes a trip to a neighboring state is equal to going to another country in lets say, Europe.

With states like Alaska and Texas you almost don't need to travel outside your borders.

Outside of Canada though, I've been to Mexico a couple of times to Cabo San Lucas. Went with my family on a roadtrip when I was a kid to Disneyland. We went through Washington, Oregan, California and then Nevada on the way back (Vegas for a couple of days). Went to California to Disneyland again a few years later. Went to Washington for a music festival. I've also been to the Czech Republic and Germany numerous times for family visits (I'm 1/2 Czech). Also went to Switzerland, Austria and a couple of other places.

I've been all over the 48 states of the USA.  Spent some time in south/central Canada, driven around the northern half of Mexico, spent a few weeks in England, N/S Ireland, Wales, etc.




I would like to travel more but honestly the language barrier discourages me some.  I only speak decent English.  It's more difficult (and it can be indirectly more expensive) if you don't know the native language of a place.  I would be willing to try to learn another language, but there are so many of them and most are only spoken in a few places in the world.  

It seems like English can be pretty useful as a second language in the world today because it shows up from time to time in a lot of other regions of the world.  But what other second language is that useful to learn when English is your first language?  All the other languages seem to be useful in much fewer different areas of the world than English can be.

Jeez, these past six years in the Corps are taking me many places...  lets see growing up in WA, Canada was a constant trip, being in the Corps: Okinawa, Japan, South Korea, Ireland, Germany(x2), Kuwait(x2), Iraq(x2) for now.. got a few more years left.. guess we shall see where i go next!  When i was stationed in AZ, Mexico was a constant trip..  i don't know why.. norther Mexico is a s@*#hole!

 I have lead a pretty sheltered life here in the midwest of  the good old USA  been to canada and mexico thats it.     That was over 25 years ago in both cases .

   But everytime i drive the birdible its like going to the moon

Nope can't say I have. I don't think Ive been out of state more than once. I would like to go to Germany one day to see the Wacken Open Air Fest. but unless I win the lottery I don't see that happening.

I don't live far from the Canadian border so we're up there alot.  Hawaii several times as others have mentioned but no customs issues to deal with there.
However we have been to the UK several years ago.  Say much of England AND Scotland.
Would have loved to take the Charger ... all they have is whimpy little cars there.

Canada probably six times and Mexico once. I'd like to visit England, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Italy and maybe the Netherlands before I die. If not I'll do it after I die. I have no desire to visit any place that gets hot and/or humid so you can keep anything south of the equator and the southeast US. France can suck it too.

I've been to many of our provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, I live in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and I stopped over in Prince Edward Island during a flight home.

In the U.S.:
New York many times - I live 10 or 15 minutes from the border.

Maine
Florida
Texas
North Carolina
Minnesota
California
Nevada
Ohio
Georgia
Drove through or stopped over in many others.

The furthest I've been off the continent though - other than 30,000 feet up in a plane - is about a mile or so off the coast of Maine, in a boat, fishing for cod.

I've been out of the united states a few times now but honestly there is so much to see in the USA that I could be very happy staying in the US. I've seen almost every state in the US at least once. Lots of great things to see.

Dont know if I can take part in this or not  since I am permanently outside the USA.
I have been to the USA  5 times now most states. Australia, all around Asia and Europe my father use to work on container ships So we would get free travel from him  of course New Zealand all over both North and South Islands.
A few people here said they are interested in NZ be sure to look me up I think you would prefer the South Island at least visually and dont forget the seasons are opposite you dont want to come here during our Winter (your Summer)
