69 Charger does not charge. Voltage regulator vs alternator

I have a 69 Charger rt clone. Bought it with no charge from the alternator. From what i understand it has a single field alternator and a dual field voltage regulator. Can i wire this to work or do need to swicht one of the parts?

If you have a dual field alt you can make it a single field again by grounding 1 of those 2 fields.Which requires the small square regulator used up till 69.If you stay with dual field and use the flat type 70- regulator then you have to change a few wires and connector to voltage regulator.But you cant use 70 flat type regulator with a 1 field alternator which was used up till 69

So simplest thing is to buy a single field voltage reg.

Take the alt with you to store have it tested if your not sure about it.Get the right square regulator and make sure alt and regulator are grounded well
