Ok, I'm searching for options to rebuild a 383 060 originally 2bbls but becoming on 4bbls ( or closer ), and noticing there is not too much options. I just have found:

KB400
KB162
Diamond 51912

I couldn't find more.

Rest of engine parts will be the standart HP Camshaft BECAUSE IS already in hands...
( this one http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,31575.0.html )

Mostly sure also the stock HP springs with dampener ( NIB, already in hands )

Weiand 4 bbls intake 8008 ( in hands ), Carb will be Holley 750 carb ( soon in hands )

Heads... stock open chambers... still have to measure the CC, just in case they have been cut in the past.

stock 2bbls torque converter for a 69 383  :shruggy:

what other options do we have ?

NOTE... JUST SEARCHING FOR PISTONS, NOTHING MORE... we have tried to find 383 060 pistons locally without luck ( by now ). TOTALLY STREET CRUISER, we are nor searching for MORE than the stcok 383 HP, unless enters on the low budget and incidentally get more spending the same with one or another pistons.

Is it safe the domed KB400 pistons on an stock build as stated, for street ?

KB and speedpro make quality pistons, diamond makes the best quality bar-none, but price is higher. The more CR the more power raising one point generally raises power across the board by 20-25 hp minimum, and that comes down to what fuel you want to buy. 10:1 on iron heads will require 91+ octane 9:1 can get away with regular unleaded. Put in domed and deck the heads if you plan on converting it to an E85 car and you can hit 14:1.
'72 B5 Metallic Blue Hardtop
426" Wedge - Hydraulic Roller Stealth heads

we have down here 91 and 95 both unleaded.

about those posted... wich one is closer to stock 383 4 bbls specs, wich one is lower and which one is higher ?

Hi Nacho!
I´m thinking about buying the Weiand 8008 manifold, my main concearn is clearance!
Do you know if it will fit under the hood of my -73 charger, 400, 4bbl?

/Linus

Nacho-RT74

that intake is pretty much stock fitment... In fact is VERY SIMILAR to the Edelbrock D4PB. In fact by how does look maybe flows the same ( I'm not the man to assure that ). Will need adaptor to fit a thermoquad carburator ( if you think on fit that one ) since is made for squarebore carbs

I had a lot of trouble finding overbore 383 forged pistons when I did my rebuild. I was down to spending a boatload of cash on Diamond before we carefully measured the bores and found some of the last remaining .030 over SpeedPros on the planet. Before you bank on anything from SpeedPro (or any of them for that matter) call or email and make sure they actually have them in stock. I found several places that listed what I needed but none that actually had any.

But if you're ok with cast pistons there are several options, esp. in KB.

ok thanks! Yes Im planing on using a TQ carb, for starters anyway.
What do u think about the clearens under the hood?

Nacho-RT74

Hood clearence shouldn't be a problem, not even with an adaptor ( TQs already uses an spacer anyway, you can get rid of spacer and fit just the adaptor if you are afraid about ). As stated, the weiand intake looks allmost stock.

Yes I remember your thread about Bull... My friend will go on 440 route anyway, but 383 block is anyway already bored to 060. He wasn't searching really for forged or casted, just some that will work
