I have 2 different mufflers to choose from for the TTI 2.5" X--system, the Dynomax turbo and Flowmaster 40-series (42541).
Which one will give me best possible in AND outside pleassure? :scratchchin:

after much consideration and research i have chosen to go with the dynomax ultraflow welded mufflers...i hate the sound of the stainless steel ones...but that is only as of right now...i may just stick with the supers that come with the tti kit...

but muffler sound is very subjective...what sounds good to one might not to another...all i kno is that numbers say dynomax flows better therefore better top end power...

I like the Dynomax ones too.

I have the Dynomax with the whole TTI package on my Hemi Road Runner. It is surprisingly quiet, inside and out, which works for me but you may want more decibels. Can't speak to the Flowmaster.

Sell the Flowbastards to some Chevy guy and run the Dynomax Turbo's. The Drone from a flowmaster muffler will drive you crazy after 20 minutes :eek2:....not to mention they will steal power from your engine.  :brickwall:

What is it about flowmasters that steal power?

Belgium R/T -68

I may be wrong but some say that using Flowmaster is a substitute for real power in your engine.

They are engineered to sound cool at the expense of performance.  The internal baffles are engineered to be loud in their signature way.  They're better than a stock muffler by far but they give up a little to Dynomax which are engineered to perform and haven't taken a signature exhaust note into the design consideration.

Belgium R/T -68

The problem is that I had the Dynomax on the GTX and sufferd very much from resonance. Secondly, reading other threads the
Ultra Flow is the best and not the turbo so it seems I'm stucked with pest or colera(?) :eek2:

My buddy with a 69 just cut off his flowmasters and replaced them with Dynamax Ultraflows.

He was being driven nuts by the droning inside the car. I have no problems with my dynamax mufflers.

I checked Dynamax homepage and found 2 of them. Ultra flow SS and Ultra flow welded, which one are we talking about?
Secondly and most important, who sells them?

the SS is more expensive and imo sounds sharper/more metalic than the welded ones :Twocents: ...any car parts catalog sells them...summit jegs ect...

i dont know why everyone bashes flowmaster. they are good mufflers. if you dont want the drone then dont buy the 40 series. they have a wide variety of mufflers to meet what you want out of the car

TylerCharger69

Those flowmasters  42541 are exactly what
i'm installing in mine.......they seem to have a very aggressive sound to them!!!
