I was going to get the lunati 60303 cam for my 440 but,I'm running stock 906 heads and I'm worried about the retainer to valve guide clearance. The lift on the exhaust is .513, so I was thinking maybe I should get another cam.I was looking at some comp XE cams that may be close to the lunati cam. I've heard good reviews on the lunati 60303 so I want to get a cam that's close to the lunati but with less lift. These are the cams I was looking at.

comp XE268H .224*int/.230*ex dur. .477int/.480ex
comp XE274H .230*int/.236*ex .488int/.491ex
lunati 60303 .226*int/.234*ex .494int/.513ex

witch cam do you think is the closes to the lunati and would perform about the same.

:bump: no one has any opinions on these cams :shruggy: Has anyone run any of these comp cams, how do they perform, idle etc.

I just read this, is this true :shruggy:

You can run 600 lift in a 906 head. It wouldn't flow enough for that much lift with out a lot of porting. Here is an article from Hot Rod. Muscle Motors is doing a CNC machine port job on 906 heads good for 600 Horse and 600 lift. No cutting anything for lift clearence. There porting and reworking the combustion chambers. "The net result is a set of factory appearing 906 heads, with well above factory performance, all at a reasonable price. After porting, the 906 heads flow an impressive 313.1 cfm on the intake side and 223.5 cfm on the exhaust side at .600-inch lift. Using the rule of thumb that cylinder heads have the potential to support horsepower double their intake flow, these heads are capable of 600 hp or more when used on a well-built engine. That kind of potential certainly makes the Muscle Motors CNC ported 906 a viable competitor when compared to other heads in the same price range, and gives enthusiasts a good product while retaining a stock appearance"
