Looks weird w/out tinted glass.Even my non A/C blue 69 has tinted glass.Every time I see a pic with all the A/C stuff under the hood I dread having to put all that back in mine.I have it all,and will put it in but looks to cluttered IMO.

Rob,without having your tag,by your vin how early or late is your car?????Just noticed you have headrests.

Troy

I have a 68 with A/C coded for "tinted windshield only". Weird.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Chris said my car falls under Nov 4 68. Why what's that mean?
Right now I run just the compressor. One day I may add all the hoses etc.
I just noticed that car has the common issue of not painting the rear side marker bezels stripe color?  I see a lot of that.

Then headrests on your car, like mine, would have been an option, built before jan 1st 69.

From what i have learned in 69, G15 being the tinted windshield was standard and G11 being tinded windows all around, was an option and recommended with the AC package.
So you could order the AC option but still choose clear glass except the windshield wich was always a tinted one
That is if i understand the tag decoders correct. :shruggy:

The few 69's i come across over here all had the tinded windshiels

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Got to looking at this subject a bit more after reading this, and discovered the following:

In '69, the Dealer Data Book says that G11 (all tinted glass) was "recommended w/ AC", but G15 (tinted windshield only) was not mentioned as mandatory with AC.  It does say that Sales Code G21 (all clear glass) is to be used "when AC is ordered and tinted glass is not desired."  It does also mention under H51 that "Tinted glass should be ordered", but again - it was not mandatory.  The Confidential Price Bulletin also makes no mention of including either tinted glass option in the cost for H51, so I don't think it came automatically.

I found another reference to the G21 code in the C.A.G. Product Engineering charts, where it says that G11 and G15 were both extra-cost options, but Sales Code G21 was required to be coded (broadcast sheet only??) on any AC cars without G11 or G15.

I have 2 1969's. One no AC and it has all of the factory non-tinted glass. I have a SE with AC that has a tinted windshield only. The quarter glass even has the Air Temp decal on it and its clear.

Thanks for looking into it Geno..... nice when these blurry option possibillities get cleared out.
