I just picked up a "New" daily driver Dodge

OK, so it is not really a Dodge, but seems close enough now. I always wanted one of these and found this one for a decent price. It is supposed to get over 30 MPG too. Now if the weather would cool off a little I can drive it. It has been 100 degrees for 2 months here in San Antonio.

It is a Fiat X1/9. Actually, the whole top comes of and goes in the frunk (front trunk). The engine is in the back, along with another trunk. The only bad thing about taking the top off is that it lets the sun in. Maybe up north it is not so bad, but in south Texas it is killer. It was 103 in the shade here today.

there's kits to put Porsche motors in the back of them............................. in case your interested........................

I have never seen a Porsche kit. There are some with Lancia 2.0 DOHC swaps, Honda B16 or K20 swaps or even Toyota MR2 swaps. Those are all custom fabbed. I have not seen a kit for any motor. Are you sure it was for an X1/9?

i could be mistaken, when i was 16-17 the guy across the street in NYC had one and told me it was a porsche engine, maybe he was spoofing me??  you know how those NYC guys are....................

He was joking with you. This car has a transverse engine, just like a FWD only it is in the back and powers the rear wheels. Porsche never made an engine of that configuation.
