So i currently have a 8 1/4 rearend in my 74 charger. I am looking to this winter swap in a 8 3/4 but I was hoping to buy a new set of rims for it. Are the bolt patterns on the two rearends different?

Depends on what  you get the 8.75 out of, but probably no difference if it is a car. Some trucks have 8.75 rears with 5 on 5 and 6 lug axles in them.
