I would have overlooked it but my older brother bought the car new in 1970 and also I did my drivers licence road test in the early 70s on this car so it has sentimental value.. Boy is that sentimental value expensive.

Hemi Orange, in certain light it changes the shade of orange.  Bright sun it looks orange, subdued light it looks more red.
I love that Color that is what my 69 is getting but I see so many color variations on here but it is probably just the lighting, camera type ect. Do you know if there is much difference between the Hemi Orange and the 999 Orange?

Im not sure either it is always listed when ever someone posts the mopar color sheets. I think 999 stands for special order. I remember reading that the bengle chargers were 999 orange. No big deal ill get it figured out.

What is 999 orange?

That color is generally better known as Omaha Orange. It was a special order in '64 on Furies, and in '68 on some Bbodies. The only documented 68s are the Bengal Chargers, and a handful of Road Runners and a Charger or two. (If someone has proof of any others, please share). No Omaha O after '68.

Undocumented are alleged early year '69 Hemi Orange cars that also, confusingly, became known as 999 Orange (by late '69 all the High Impact colors were available). Hemi Orange is most certainly not Omaha Orange. The true name for Hemi Orange is Tor-Red Irridescent (somewhere in '69 Dodge took ownership of the name Hemi Orange and Plymouth took Tor-Red).

Omaha O is a pale and sort-of creamy color, like an orange creamsicle. Hemi O / Tor-Red has a strong red presence in the orange. Omaha Orange may have been borrowed from the Michigan State DOT (why not Nebraska? ) Hemi Orange came directly from Valhalla when the muscle car gods gave it to Mopar owners to protect and preserve forever.

So, Dan, is this closer to Omaha O? Its close to the Aussie version of Vitamin C as a lot of the Aussie Chargers and Pacers were painted, but is a bit lighter and more vibrant.
It is one of the nicest Chargers I have ever seen though, it is a credit to the guy that did it, he has owned it over 10 years but the resto was just finished last year. 383, buckets, console, black interior, even the underneath is spotless
