Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I always thought it was the round edge pieces (piping)

Here's some purdy pink piping on a seat

bull

That makes sense in a sad way, but he's talking about a door jam. :scratchchin: Maybe he's talking about that trim that presses on to the rear door flange on the inside.

Windlace is it? http://www.stockinteriors.com/Windlace.asp?Itemid=17773&MakeId=7&ModelId=132

i thought he was asking about the windlace also, on my 1st gen the seats and door panels are white and so is the windlace. i would think the windlace would match what ever the door panel is since they are touching each other

Dodge Don

Thanks guys.

Here is some video from this morning....

First off...I'm sick and have almost lost my voice...

My oldest guy (7) and I took the Charger out early this morning...he has skateboarding lessons every Saturday morning....air was crisp and cool and clear. So we took some video....he still isn't great with a camera but there is some okay stuff if you can get past the shots of his shoes, the console or the dash.... ::)

I've been really babying the engine since it is new however this morning I couldn't help myself and lit her up from a stop light.....oh yeah baby. I have to get this thing to the track one day with slicks to see what she'll do. Very pleased....

I liked your chevy comment in the last vid

Dodge Don

I am finally really enjoying driving her. For the first while it was part excitement and part dread since it was a complete rebuild and had to work through gremlins that could leave me stranded somewhere, or worse on fire. My confidence in the car and it's performance is high now. It is a blast to drive. Too bad Winter is coming.

You are just expressing what I'm going thru now, I thought I was alone. :eek2: Have now 154
miles and every sound and smell makes my heart jump in the sky of fear that the engine will explode
or the driveshaft coming up thru the floor, fires due to leaks etc. I hope I will start to trust my build
very soon so I can enjoy the car as it should be.

BTW, very nice car you have their Don. :2thumbs:

I hear you. Part of me goes "I just built a car...and I'm not a licensed mechanic....what do I know about building a car...something must go wrong". I caught a fuel leak early so was lucky there. The car pulls like a freight train when I step on it at around 40-50...wicked fast, but was really taking it easy so never floored it from a stop or slow roll. The 10" tight torque converter Ron recommended really fools you as it spools up gently at light throttle, was starting to think my car had no punch at low end until I lit her up yesterday. Whoo hoo thing is a beast.....just like Ron said it would (Ron designed my engine build).

Time to start planning for Carlisle next year.

Then we are both a pair of lucky guys because I build my engine on Rons spec aswell. :2thumbs:
The torque my monster shows after only using half throttle is amazing.

Hey Don, what was you Dyno readings for HP and Torque? I know the feeling of driving after a complete rebuild, but is all good now. It was a year ago today that i got mine on the road and now i have 2500 miles on the clock.  :2thumbs:

There is a story on this. When I had the engine dynod I was trying to "help out" and was setting up the six pack carb vacuum lines. We realized well after that I had goofed and had the vacuum hoses completely wrong and the outboard carbs were not opening up. By then the chance to dyno again was gone. So on the center 2bbl only we got 461.2 HP @ 5300 RPM and 520.4 Torque at 4100 RPM. Before we figured out what I did wrong I was dissappointed in the results as Ron had estimated the set up should be good for 500 HP. Wish I had gotten the outboard carbs working to see what the real numbers are. On top of that I was filming the dyno and somehow set my camera on time lapse so I got no video....a completely missed opportunity.
