Volo Auto Museum and American Classic Muscle Cars

Hi Folks,

Do Volo Auto Museum and American Classic Muscle Cars(HLPAG) have anything in common?

In addition, has anyone had any experience with Coyote Classics out of IA?  I'm interested in a 69 383 GL Charger they have for about 21K.  Its got a 68 front end and the centre hood raised accent seems a little off from the pictures.  Any thoughts?

Don't trust Volo.  They're not as bad as Hans & co but they're often overpriced and not always honest about their merch.



There are a lot of GLs for sale in car museums across the country, but very few of them that I would consider buying.

the shape and placement of the pattern is waaaaay off, notice it wraps over the top as well as goes to the edge..

I WOULD NOT BUY ANY GENERAL LEE FROM ANY BUILDER OR DEALER OTHER THAN SMITH BROTHERS.   It is just to risky anymore with all the BK Auto type shops.  Any GENERAL LEE you look at to buy, you better take a magnet with you and go over the entire car with it.

I've dealt with Volo before.  It worked out okay for me, but keep in mind they are a consignment dealer and will describe the car however the owner describes it to them.  I can only assume they don't check into the authenticity of the owner's claims, so many times the description and condition of their vehicles are not always accurate.  If you're interested in anything from them, do not take their word for it, go see it in person and inspect thoroughly.

Well, to put it in Black & White, BK Auto has been car(s) for Volo in the past.  Should show you what they think of "quality" in their museum.

Love the orange rear valance, and incorrect rims. Nice 68 grill too.

Aside from the car having a mix of some odd looking & incorrect items, I'd be more concerned over the bent looking radiator support. Maybe it was a former jump car that was doctored up to look good for photos.

The dash is priceless. A Coyote Classic is right. It would seem that a coyote got locked in the car and tried to chew his way out thru the dash.

Hey look! There's that big orange line at the bottom of the door that I was trying to explain in the interior section the other day...

It's a 68 gauge cluster and bezels but appears to be a 69 dash (pad).

There are WAY nicer Chargers out there for the money. The frickin' dash looks melted around the radio area too

Looks like a quickie job to me. They painted over the door striker, and under the hood looks like they painted black over most everything on the firewall. Dash was probably painted over black. Nice brown gauges too   Check out the underneath on a RR and the GL. Shocks are cheap but they didn't replace them. Looks like a shoddy rocker job on the runner and looks like they welded something on the inner wheel well on the GL from the inside? Nice exhaust hangers as well. Why show these shots at all anyway?

The car at Coyote is sold. I inquired about it last weekend. The owner of Coyote was very honest and said he had not been able to confirm the #'s matching, though it was a 2bbl carbed 383. He couldn't explain the front end to me. I later discovered it was the same car sold at auction from mecum auctions in iowa. I believe the car was sold to someone overseas.
