I used to see this car all of the time at Monster Mopar weekend, several area swapmeets and car shows. It was V2 with a black interior and a white wing, 440 4-speed (I think) The guy's name was Louie Seeka (sp)? or something like that ? I had heard that it had been sold about 10 years ago....anybody seen it? Anybody here OWN it? That car was cool :icon_smile_cool: And I hope it still is  :icon_smile_cool:

I think the car you are talking about belonged to Smoothie (Conrad Irby) He sold that car about 8 yrs? ago.Got somewhere around $50k for it but I dont remember where it went.He lives around Harrisburg area I think. Mopurr has a better memory than me ,she might know more.Brent

Ok here is info from my memory dear.....HUGS!

Louie had a R4 or V2 car we talked to him at MM back before we got our car ie: as in when we looking this goes back to years of being down at John's tent.  Louie did not have an interest in selling the car and if I remember John might have owned this car at one time and said we should talk to Louie.

Yes Smoothy had a similar car but only remember him being at MM with it once or twice and BTY I believe he is from the West Frankfort area. Bet Smoothy wishes that he had held onto the car a few more years before selling.

When we saw Louie years ago it was back before I kept track of serial #'s so do not know where the car is now.

The car could have been R4 instead of V2, it's been a long time, But this guy definitely was from Belleville or the surrounding area. I used to see the car a lot several years ago. Cool car. I hope it's still around.

I have to ask....why do you refer to this as a cool car other than it is a Daytona?

I don't remember anything jumping out at me to make it especially memorable other than it is a daytona.

It has been years since I have seen it.

its really cool to see any wing car out and about on the streets, especially if you see it driven often

1. It was a Daytona.

2. It was local.

3. Back then, I'd see it everywhere, like one particular sunday morning we were at the local Shoney's eating breakfast and what cruises by?  This car.

I went to a crappy swapmeet one morning in Belleville and in the parking lot with the rusted out Silverados and beat up F150's sat this Daytona, being driven and parked just like an everyday car.
That's cool to me  :icon_smile_cool:

Speaking of interesting Daytonas...I distinctly recall seeing Conrad Irby's car the first time, when I was a teenager...sitting in his shed, gallon paint cans stacked across the wing...with is '67 Hemi Coronet R/T sitting close by.  It was in West Frankfort.  I thought he said he sold the restored Daytona for about $70k.

There was an older guy that had a white Daytona at the Greenville airport show every year.  I have not been there since Cudaken and I went at least 4 years ago.

The car I referred to in the original post was not from West Frankfort.

I remember talking to the guy at Monster Mopar one year and he said he was from Belleville.

It's been a long time ago.
