When will they stop doing this to chargers. they been doing this stuff ever sence TB did his event.

FLG

What i dont understand is why cant they buy aftermarket panels fix up the jumped ones and just keep re-jumping them. So they get to jump chargers and we dont see one after another get wrecked.

I found it disgusting, and disturbing! Not only the ass behind the wheel thinking he really pulled off something special but the crowd as well.  :rotz:

Well the thing is, the guy driving it doesn't buy the cars, it's the folks putting the show togother get the cars for the driver to jump them. But this one sounded to good though to be doing a jump.

jb666

That's horrible... I'm sorry, but if my sorry excuse for a car could be put back together and made into something than this certainly could have...  :slap:

0X01B8

Whatever.

It could have been a POS.  Maybe an orange paint job and a jump is better than the crusher.

I don't know what I think anymore   :shruggy:

Chargers are expensive, even a crappy one.  Now if it was a Ronnie Duke style, mortgage crook millionaire, stolen-money-no-object, asshole, let's kill an R/T 4spd, don't give-a-shit type deal, then I'd be pissed.

Guess it all depends on the shape of the car.

I wish it would stop too.  We can start it up again when Dynacorn repops that entire unibody.

QuoteWhat I don't understand is why can't they buy aftermarket panels and fix up the jumped ones and just keep re-jumping them.

The impact goes way beyond the visible outer panel damage.  Subframe rails are toast, roof skin & quarters are buckled, engine is ripped off the K-frame, etc.

Here's some Dukefest shit.  A track full of yahoos. Friggin huckleberrys.

Now, don't get me wrong here, I like the Dukes of hazzard and like the  General Lee alot also, but come on, jumping chargers almost every dang year? It seems like after TB did his event in 03, others must have thought "Oh that looks cool, lets start doing that each year also" and the chargers started to die one by one.

Man all of our's must be getting more and more rarer as all these poor chargers lands anymore. Someday they will look around and ask for charger to fix up and there won't be very many left and they probably will wonder why or what happen to them all. Look at this even and you might see

When I first seen the clip, I got sickfor seeing that poor charger do that.

Nacho-RT74

I'm not againts these jumps really, BUT I think is time to make them land GOOD enough to not get those heavy damages... enough time to have learnt don't you think ?

I dont know who in their right mind would wanna be  behind a wheel of a car going nose 1st into the ground at that speed/height. I hope that idiot isnt married and if he is hopefully that idiot aint got kids. Seriously thats just total foolishness

I don't think they even try to make them land good enough. I don't think that charger had any weight in the trunk area either or it probablt would not have nose drive like it did. Now if they could get the car to where they can land it with out hurting it all that bad. I wouldn't be againts it either. But seeing these poor old cars get smash like that for what? nothing really.

Ghoste

I'd still be pissed because it reinforces the idea that Charger wrecking is cool. :Twocents:

"Why can't they ever just make the car land flat?"

Here's why.  It wouldn't matter if they did:

The car is just as dead either way.

And the flatter impact is harder on the driver.

You would think if they reinforce the inside of the skins like they did on the 05 Dukes movie with the GL rammer car that ram the police cars in the city on that one street. That car had reinforcement behind the skins and that car didn't have that much damage done to it.

You would think if they could reinforce the top secentions of the skins on the inside that on landing they would not give very much. Also sense they take so long on getting the car ready, they would have time also to fix the suspension to like and off road vehicle kinda set up as you think it would be easy with some hard coil stuff probably if done right. You would still have the ball joints braken though on the landings unless there was a way to provent that also.
