Its far from BS. I believe is in the Guiness Book of World Records. The Chickens head was gone, but a part of the brain was still attached to the brain stem. It was alive, and actually was a side show act for many months after it was beheaded.

well, in that case, i will agree with you.  the Cerebellum handles all involuntary functions.  If part of it was still there than it seems perfectly feasible that it could have lived.

Another question is "why would you want to keep a chicken with his head cut off alive for 18 months?"  I am sure he didnt make millions off of it.

He didn't make millions that is for sure. Then again this was in 1946 I believe that it happened. So even if he only made a few thousand dollars off of it then, he was sitting in high cotton.
