And no, I won't be putting a red stripe on it. :nana: This is something I'll be considering in the distant future. When I get the car done i'll be running with no stripe for a while but eventually I might add one of three shades: white, silver or black on a black 68.

Here's some examples, even though the second pic looks green (I can't find a white stripe example yet):

Ghoste

I think your car would look good with a silver stripe Bull.  It's a nice combination and since it would be a non-stock addition anyway why not go for a custom touch?

bull

I've seen one before and I like it but I can't find a picture. That green one I posted above is goofing me up, especially with that misplaced R/T emblem.

While any of those stripe colors are indeed nice-looking and would compliment your car, I voted No Stripe.

My reasoning is identical to those that add a HEMI badge to the door of a base Charger.  Any stripe, in my opinion, is unnecessary.

But, as we always conclude threads such as these, it's you car so do what you think best and will make you happy!~

Shame, shame. :nono: Us non-vinyl guys are supposed to stick together.

Anyway, if I do anything I'm sort of leaning toward the black or silver. The black is good because it's not an R/T car and it's barely visible so that might keep the purists more at ease (like I care). Silver on black looks good too. White on black looks good too but it's quite a striking contrast and I'm kind of liking the idea of subtlety.

So what happens if I do decide to put one on and I don't like it? Do they come of easy?

Another great question that I've wondered about.

I suspect part of the answer envelops how much time the car sits outside.  I'd suspect that the paint around might oxidize/discolor while the paint beneath the strips is protected from weather.  The longer the car is in the sun, the greater the color difference once the stripe is removed.

That is one factor I considered. Another is the quality of paint/clear coat work and the type of adhesive used on the stripe. I've never seen a stripe off a car to know how thick and sturdy they are and what kind of adhesive they use. If they're flimsy they probably can't be removed very well. If they're thick they're probably easier to get off.

Charger-Bodie

If you install the stripe and decide you dont like it fairly soon after, you wont have as much trouble as you would later on.

I was leaning and voted no stripe but after seeing 1hot68's I think I like the black stripe.

It just gives a nice hint of a stripe without the contrast of a white or silver stripe.

Back N Black

i vote the silver stripe.I like a stripe on chargers, it breaks up the long ass quarter panel.

Yes they come off with little sweat.  1/2 hour and a hair dryer and it's off. That's my vinyl stripe over my painted stripe.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

suntech

I voted silver stripe. I think that looks great on a black car :2thumbs:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

i say no stripe, but if ya' do one i like the black best,..  :shruggy:

Where do you guys that have installed them get the measurements for accurately applying the stripes?
