Looking to buy an exhaust sytem for my 71 Charger. car is a factory 383 and originally had turn downs. I would like to add the factory bazooka tips. A complete system including the tips from Accurate would be about 1100 shipped. I didn't want to spend that much . Are there any other sytems out there that are close to stock and have a good track record for fitting well ? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

i just got the 3 inch summit brand kit from summit racing, its cheap and fits very well and includes all the clamps and hardware. only drawback is it is set up for hooker supercomp headers. with my headmans i had to cut a few inches out of the pipe were it runs through the tranny tunnel and weld it back on, a 20 minute delay in the install. everything else was a breeze, had to shorten the intermediate pipes due to the extra long long of my mufflers. i ran the flowmaster 50series suv mufflers. i am tickled pink with how they turned out.

I took my '71 with a 440 to the local exhaust guy last year and he ran 2.25 inch duals from the exhaust manifolds back, with mufflers, for $200 installed.

Works great, fits great. You've just got to call around to find someone who wants the work and will give you what you want for a reasonable price.

I imagine it wouldn't have been much more difficult to have had him put tips on - unfortunately, I didn't have a pair of those awesome bazooka tips!

But I guess you might be looking for something more than that.

Thanks for the replies. I have stock manifolds and maybe going to a shop that can bend up a system would be worth checking out.

I'm very happy with my Pypes system, but it's designed for headers. You'd have to have an exhaust shop connect it to your manifolds.
