All the seat belts are restored and installed.

I disassembled  all the belts, sandblasted the buckles, painted the buckles black, painted the springs, installed new pads on all the buckles,  polished all the chrome, all webbing was die to black, my friend installed new tags from ECS, elastic and snaps.

Wow what a great story and what a great restoration. I think it is wonderful that you are doing all the work yourself.  I did a 442 about 6 years ago (sorry, but I got it for free) and I know how much work and $$$ it takes to do a good restoration on one of these old cars.

It was one of those projects that the original owner started to do.  He had the engine and trans worked over and he had a body shop replace the the quarter panels.  l did all the rest of the body work, paint work, upholstery (except the headliner) and suspension/mechanical work. The tires were still good (it was stored in a building) so I didn't need to replace them.  All the glass was good as was the dash, guages, wiring, radiator but I had a glass shop remove and reinstall the glass and the heater core needed recoring.  Looking back now I wish I had NOT retored it, I wish I would have traded it to someone who had a Mopar and wanted a GM car.

I've enclosed a couple of shots of it.  I had already removed the front bumper before I snapped the before shot.

Just got back my steering gear box from firm feel. They rebuilt it with there stage 2 set up.

Project is going great!!!!! Working on the enigne right now. I dont know if 68 had the shield but I do know its only for auto trans cars.
