So for the last 2 1/2 years I have been on DC.com almost everyday reading people's posts and copying pictures of people's cars (I have over 700 pictures). So that some day when my car was painted I could start putting my car back together the way it was in 1969. See when my mom gave me the car it was sitting on a cart with no doors, hood, fenders or trunk lid. I can tell you that its very hard to put a car together if you did not take it apart. Plus all the parts I have for it have been moved from a shop to my mom's house and then to my house. So there's alot of missing parts. Here's some more pictures of the restoration.

This kind of thing is why I come here.  Congrats.  I'm sure the story behind the car will make it all the more gratifying when you're done.

I never ran across this thread before, but I'm glad I did now.

Truely an amazing and heartwarming story, and you are doing excellent work.

I'm sure your grandpa is lending a hand from time to time.

Don't know if the guy ever get his money back, but I'm thinking he took the engine and transmission from the car before returning it to us.
I'll bet ya he would sell you the motor and trani back for.........2,000.00
Your story is amazing as you list exact days and dates. Surprised you didn't  mention who had what for dinner on those dates.

Wow, that looks great.  So that's O'Connors new booth huh?  You are lucky to have gotten that dana back, I know that guy too well.  Did you see the superbird there?  He's claiming it's all original numbersa matching when I saw the car when he got it with a 383.  Some people never change.  Good luck with the assembly, the car really looks great.

One question, how did you restore the regulators?  They look awsome!
When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, quietly in his sleep.  Not screaming like the passengers in his car.
