hey guys is there any way of altering the charging rate mine seems to be overcharging,something like 15.5 volts at fast idle??  :shruggy: 68charger rt with original alternator and voltage reg on bulkhead  :cheers:
I don't care what is is designed to do,I want to know what it can do.

What do you have for a voltage regulator old points type new electronic one .Adjustable type??.Are you sure the regulator is well grounded

tes its the old stlye points reg,its well grounded and connections are clean and bright,did not know they were adjustable  :shruggy:

If its a new auto parts store replacement one its preset out of the box.But a theres slight chance its defective is a possibility.

If its the old original piece to the car.It can have been in to and misadjusted.Or wore out as stuck contacts or etc mech defect it will allow it to run up the voltage past requirements..Make sure your parts are in good workng order .Or replace them :Twocents:
