I waivered recently whether to sell my car. I took a step back and decided to keep it. At this point I would sell if mine ever reached $100K. I would build my dream garage and another project. Of course mine has to get finished first.

It was in the National Post (Canadian newspaper) on November 11th.  Caught my Wife reading it over breakfast which is scary as she doesn't pay much attention to car related stuff with exception to the credit card statement each month!

The NADA mid range value for my 73 has gone up over $3000 in the last two years. I bought the car to drive and enjoy, exactly as the article stated people buy them for. Annual appreciation is just icing on the cake.

If that does happen, the folks who have been driving prices up, for the most part, won't be that affected.  It will be the blue collar guy that busts his ass every night for 3 years to build the cars that will be effected....

The guys at the top won't be affected, but they buy only a small percentage of cars.  I think it will affect the prices overall to send them down.  It isn't the guys at the top who are buying the rusty cars getting dragged from the swamps.

some of those rusty cars being dragged off from the swaps are the white collar employee's. Because on some of those cars it is actually cost effective to buy a rusty car, restore it and in that time you can sell the car to make a profit. One some models that is.

I don't see the prices staying up that long. I hope that they don't. I don't care if my car is worth $100K or $5K I wanted a 69 Charger 500, and I saved every penny I could to get one. Doesn't ever matter what I could get out of it, because I don't intend on selling at any cost.
