Thats right I have finally found a 69 to build a Daytona clone frome. Its a 3x green stripe delete R/T (kinda wish it were a 318 for clone sake,but) It has some rust issues and all , but I feel I got a decent deal on it so here we go!!

I will post pics of it in a couple days when it gets droped off.

Anyone have a vega hatch they want to sell?

Im actually leaning towards White with red stripe and black interior.....That is subject to change though cause this project will be far more spread out than my 68 was.

I plan to use the steel one.....which is one of the reasons that this will be a longer term project

More money= more wait and save time.

Actually I just scored a decent hatch at the local yard for 40.00, but I would be interested in a rear window and trim cause the are absent.

Mike and Brian both have black '68s and Mike's Daytona was white but Brian's will be white...oh nevermind, simple things confuse simple minds I guess

Very cool Brian. I am starting to round up parts to do one as well but will likely go with a glass nose in case it gets damaged. Our roads up here in northern BC leave a bit to be desired!

Hey if you com across any other hatches let me know as I am having troubles finding one!

metal is the way to go. the better the nose is from the beginning , will make it easier when your mounting it later on .

I was just thinking fiberglass is easier to repair when somebody who does not care (most people) back into your car at the mall! Agreed steel would be better than glass!

Mike, did you use a steel nose or glass and what did you use for the plug? I love the look of angrier and would love that combo with the satin finish but would think I was being a copy cat!

I have had things happen to me in my life which necessitate a cage. My vision is a caged Daytona with a twin turbo 440 with a 4 speed with the Passon gear set. I want to build a true 200 mph beast which can be daily driven.

Driveline plans on this car will be 440 (likely a very mild stroker) 727 auto, and a 3.55 8 3/4.

Any questions? Just ask. Check out the Winged Warriors 09 meet thread and you see my clone, (the red one). Built using Janak's stuff, 'glass hatch. Headlights are electrically operated. Mine started life as a 69 R/T also, stripe delete, which tends to confuse some. Good luck!

All my parts were done by Mike Goyette of Dayclona in Massachusetts. The nose is fiberglass and the rear plug and wing are all steel. His number is 508-977-0680 and is a GREAT source of reference. He made EVERYTHING, even converted the headlights to electric for me.... the man knows his stuff.

if your like most of us you'll be swearing and busting your knuckles on the car till its done . it did give me a great feeling of satisfaction . knowing that it was a hard road to complete my car .money wise and work wise .
i got r done . by far the most satisfing car project i have ever done and i have done over 20 cars in my life .

you got nothing to worry about with info or help . now all you need is cash for parts . Rene

to it . still a work in progress but i'm having a blast with it .
