Welcome to the site
Great car you have there...she'll provide many hours of fun.

While this site is geared more to the classics, there are a few members on here that have the newer stuff.

Other sites to check out are www.chargerforums.com and www.lxforums.com

These are geared more to the new stuff.  Good luck with the new ride!  :drive:

i've read the cold air intake is worth 12, headers are 6 hp, catback exhaust maybe 10 or so, that would put the charger at 400.. so reprogramming and a procharger adds 150-200 hp? not knocking you i'm curious...

i could see it adding that at 15-20 lbs. of boost.....but on a stock engine?  i'm doubtful....

Be cautious with the mods,as I have a new Challenger and did alot of research on mods, they are not all cracked up to there advertizements of power gains. Here is an example,on one of the Chally sites guy did a no bs buildup, chassis dyno stock was   328 RWHP,heres what he did.......

   CAI= 300.00
  85 MM TB = 430.00
  Cat back=  1,300.00             back on dyno......348 RWHP   20 HP for $2K !!!!

then did the DiablosportPredator tuner @ 375.00 ,claims 20-25HP, actual was 8!!!!!

  You be your own judge.

Throw out everything in the trunk, gut the interior, and lose the A/C, power accessories, and stereo (for free!!!). If you feel like spending money then buy a carbon fiber or fiberglass hood. If you feel like spending even more money swap engine components out for aluminum equivalents and get lighter wheels and brakes. Then worry about adding an intake that ups your power by 5%. Realistically, I think most new cars respond fairly well to supercharging. But with more air you need to be able to move it which means intake and exhaust improvements. A chip is helpful once you get the air flowing. Without the diet you're still trying to move 2.25 tons of car.

OR... you could just enjoy the car. The rest of that stuff gets expensive and I'd rather modify a car that's paid for already.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

don't forget that moving more air means moving more fuel......and when you're boosting the fuel system alone gets expensive quick!

Forgot to mention this, the new Kenne-Bell SC is probably the best one out there, they have gotten 142 RWHP with them @ 8lbs. of boost. There have been piston ringland failures already on the new hemis being superchargered going over these boost levels. The KB SC comes with the tuner and cost $7,000.00.Phewwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!

OneofNoneRT

Looks like he already had the answers.. I will stick with my numbers though . 3or 4 yrs old running on pump/ethanol will probably take a big bite out of it though.. :shruggy: He said he wanted to go Fast.. He didnt say how far or how much..

I bought the car out the door

So far I've done a cold air intake and exhaust. I've got a Predator on it's way (and 180 t-stat), but I didn't buy this thing to be a speed demon.. It's a quick car, but more than anything IT'S COMFORTABLE AS ALL HELL. Enjoy the car for it's creature comforts..  For big $$ you can turn it into a low/mid 13 second car, but really, is it worth it?  I wanted to be able to hear mine and have some good throttle response (unlike the factory JOHN DEERE settings they seemed to program) and tighten up the transmission shift points.. Mine shifts like a lazy cow and has the power/throttle response of my (stock) diesel F350.

Oh yeah, and I did just drop a set of American Racing TT's on it.. I thought they looked good on the car.

The last thing I'll do to it (for now) is an SRT8 hood.  These cars are GREAT platforms for a good system.. Good luck and have fun!!

I'm curious about this too. I FELT NOTHING after putting my cat back exhaust on. I felt ALMOST NOTHING after putting my CAI on. I'm assuming I'll "feel" next to nothing with the tuner (except the tranny improvements). Those #'s seem a bit high..  I remember someone saying (another forum) "don't be surprised to see the tuner unlock about 30HP". Yeah, if I install a cam at the same time, maybe..

OneofNoneRT

Feel?? 30 HP? I doubt you would Feel it.. It would show in a few 10ths of a quarter pass.. remember when you get to mid 13s it takes alot to get into the 12s etc,, That is 1/2 second in a quarter mile.. Or another way to look at is your 0-60 time went from 6.0 to 5.8..Just enjoy That old fashion Rumble.. :D

Yeah, I'd certainly expect to feel 30RWHP. Hell, I read some people saying things like "I put a K&N filter in my car tonight and WOW, it feels great!!" . Those are the people who can take sugar pills and cure illnesses, I know, but 30RWHP is a decent gain.. Definitely enough to feel. When we did a cam swap in my '95 Vette it yielded about 50RWHP total, after the tune, and it felt like a different car all together..

I am enjoying the rumble.. It's pretty cool. I have a small video of the car running Flowmasters, but for some reason Photobucket stripped it of it's audio...

Try this, it should let you download the file. It's a TOTALLY different sound than the stock "is it running?" system.

Thanks, and I don't want to turn this thread into an ALL ABOUT ME thread, but it's on subject. The car has nice smooth power, but for a 360 HP vehicle, it sure doesn't feel like it. I know it has a "learning computer", and I haven't taught it anything , but I expected more.  Mine's an 06, also, with 19k miles on it. The previous owner was 62 years old, and absolutely babied it.. So I'm sure the computer needs to be snapped out of it's coma.. I'm hoping the tune will help that situation.

I don't kid myself and tell anyone "it's a CHARGER, I bought it for it's name!", because that's ridiculous.. It's a REALLY comfortable daily driver. I have no desire to turn this into an over-tuned rocket. I want it to be a reliable turn-key comfortable car that I can take to work with no worries. I always go balls out with my cars and promised I wouldn't with this one (except some minor cosmetic enhancements).

One guy says to me today, at my buddy's audio/video shop "That thing sounds awesome man, I'd love to hear that thing on the highway!". I said "Why, it sounds no different then it does sitting right here!!".  What's it supposed to do on the highway  :brickwall:

I havent touched my car except for some appearance items.  The Daytona exhaust has a totally different note over the R/T and the SRT exhaust...I wouldnt even consider changing it out...

Right. Mine has the r&t package so t had the Daytona wheels, exhaust and seats. Much better than the regular, I agree.

Actually, I just got home and listened to that.. Definitely a bit throatier than mine was, and like I said mine has the R&T Package which SUPPOSEDLY had the same exhaust..

Just 6T9 CHGR

Nope....Daytona has different exhaust by itself....as far as I know :Twocents:
