i belive there's an "f" in "of" but I'm assuming you attempted to spell get rid "of" groundhogs,.. but then again perhaps I'm reading too much into it?.

becasue after the explosions i was standing right there and he kept popping out of the hole trying to breathe from all the smoke but he wouldnt come out since i was standing there so i waited over the hole with my 45 and when he popped out i let him have it. he was full of holes a bloody mess but i was not going to stick my arm down the hole to pull him out

Not saying Joe is a bad guy, and I have nothing agaisnt hunting or ridding yourself of varmits. I do find it a bit unnecessary to use the excessive amount of force he used, and I also see no need to put in on video. I certainly don't think I'm better, just MHO. No offense intended.

i'm not joey gowdy  i'm also surprised you call me an idiot? hmm, there is alot of hatred between me and groundhogs, when you own cattle and have to shoot a 2-4 thousand dollar bull because he stepped in a groundhog hole then you will use excessive force on teh little bastards as well, so go hug your tree.

for your information i typicly use a .308 that holds a 1/4 to 3/8 5 shot group at 300 yards. i have a i shot one kill mindset with the current economy and reloading crisis. i dont like to miss and i rarely do. i take pictures of all of my kills so call me an idiot or call me stupid, whatever you like, i dont care.  those videos were done because that particular groundhog had caused a ton of trouble and i did not feel comfortable shooting him with the amount of backdrop behind his hole. IF i were as stupid as you claim i am i would have just used one of my semi-auto guns and unloaded 30 round clips on him. but did i do that? no. i resorted to other methods. exterminators use very inhumane methods and live traps are cruel as well. my gun/ammo selection kills the hog dead in its tracks and he never even hears the shot go off.

I stand corrected. For the record I never called you stupid. I just think the explosives may have been a bit excessive. Video taping it seems a bit much as you put it up here as a means for enjoyment. That having been said I grew up on farms my whole life and do understand protecting your stock. I am also not a tree hugger, I am however for humane treatment of animals. I don't want to sound like I'm riding a high horse, just some things I observed. Just my opinion.

The video with the rifle shot wasn't too bad except the camera jumping. Need a better zoom for 264 yards I guess. My uncle shoots muskrats across the lake in the dark (out in the sticks where I grew up and learned to shoot). I don't actually "hunt" anything myself but have no problems killing pests that destroy property (wish I could do the same for people who destroy it as well).

You know all those "humane" traps? Well, those guys dump the animals out here where I live. Last year we had 2 groundhogs, 4 squirrels, 5 raccoons, 3 opossum, 2 deer, and countless rabbits on 3/4 acre (most living under our shed). This year we have coyotes so one problem solved itself...

so i should use the humane live traps that everyone else uses? you know, the ones that leave the groundhog sitting out in the sun in a small cage all day while i am at work, dehydrating and starving them? oh yeah, i tried that once, and will never use one again for that reason, they suffer all day and by the time i got home from work the hog was about dead anyway, then to top it off i still have to shoot the thing.

or maybe i should hire the exterminator that pumps propane down the hole and then sets it off removing all air from the hole suffocating the hog to death. yup, thats much more humane then shooting them,

so what if i unloaded a magizine down the hole, i made sure the hog was dead and did not leave it to suffer wounded, perhaps 14 rounds was more then needed but the hog was definatly dead.  i could have been like all the other people that just let them run around wounded until they die or get eaten by another animal but i make sure the animals are dead.

search youtube and watch how many videos there are of wounded hogs crawling across the field or the ones that are stiff with the tails up in the air in pain till they die. when i shoot a hog it is dead on the spot and if for some reason the first shot didnt kill it the second shot finishes it up immediatly.

I used to use sulfer and a propane torch to deal with gophers and a scissor trap to deal with moles. Ground squirrels get the the old .22 whenever I get back to where I grew up. BTW, are you sure you're a bona fide rancher? I've never seen a "real" rancher use a large caliber hand gun to take out varmints. That's a job for the Ruger 10-22.

i like big guns, i actually dont own a 10/22, but i have a savage semi auto 22, the hogs up here laugh at it. the .308 reaches out at crazy distances and has a near 100% 1st shot kill ratio.

Theres already a sight called youporn and its free, so ive ben told  . Good video, reminds me of caddyshack. Ive got a big problem here with moles that I cant seem to get rid of. Grub killer isnt doing a thing. Im going to try smoking them out next.

When you have livestock....and it starts costing big cash....especially the cash that funds a Charger restoration......then you'll take whatever means necessary to eradicate the problem.  I see nothing wrong with it, and I certainly see no problem having a little fun while doing it.   And as far as the criticism of taping it and submitting it on YouTube....well.....browse through that site for a while....you'll see much worse things....hell   I think there's YouTube videos of people taking a s**t!!!   Now that's something to complain about!!
