Help Please - Picking an intake for my 440

Mopar guys!  I need some help again with my 440!

I have a set of Indy EZ heads and an Indy valley plate. Long story but I have just moved to Denver and have lost all my low end torque/power.  I am currently running a Torker II intake which is my problem.  It makes all of it power at 3000 RPMs and higher.  To fix my low end power loss I have purchased an Edelbrock RPM dual plan intake which will not fit with the Indy valley plate.  So my question is what are my options?  Will the Holly Street Dominator intake fit or should I just man up and purchase the Indy Intake manifold for $$$?  Is anyone else running these combinations?

Any help would be much appreciated!

The ICH dual plane would be my choice for your build.  :2thumbs:

Thanks Ron!  I just ordered one today!  Hope to get back on the road by next week!  Hope it will bring my low end power back :shruggy:  Missing my take off!

Excellent choice !  :2thumbs:

If it still feels a little soft down low there's allways the option of advancing the cam's installed centerline to add more low end grunt.  ;)

oldschool

you will love that intake! it's the BEST dualplane out there  :yesnod:. it can also easliy be opened up to max wedge size down the road.i use this manifold on my 3 500" motors.

Thank again for all the help!  Got the new intake installed and the car fired right up.  Now on to the next problem.  The Indy intake does not allow for the stock kick down linkage or throttle cable.  I went ahead and ordered a Bouchillon Performance kick.  Has anyone used this before?  Is it a good one for the mopars?
Also, the Indy intake has a place for the stock chock setup built in the intake.  I am using an electric choke and there is no need for this in my setup.  Should I cover that spot up on the intake or will it be ok to leave it uncovered?  I want to make sure this does not cause any type of intake link.

Thanks again!

how much taller is this intake versus say a factory 440 4 bbl intake? I only ask so this way I can figure if I can run a spacer or not... I got a couple more dollars to acquire before I can order mine, bad thing is, mine will ahve to be ported to max wedge ports to match the heads... Thanks for the pic :yesnod:

Eric, the Bouchillion kit works fine....you won't have any problems making it work.  :2thumbs:

You can leave the choke well open....no leaks to be concerned with because the ICH heads do not have a heat crossover like the factory heads.

bull

Not to oversimplify but since you just moved to Mile High City don't you just need to rejet the carb?

pullrock

That is where I started and after re-jetting the carb and get it more timing I lost all my low end power :RantExplode:  That is when I figured out that it's was time to get rid of the Torker II intake.  Which is a single plane manifold and the power and it above 3000 RPM's.  Hope that answers your question.

I will keep eveyone posted when i get the new Bouchillon Performance kit installed!

Thanks everyone again!

Eric

Over the weekend got the Bouchillon Performance kit installed.  It took most of the morning to get it installed.  Went on a drive and after a few adjustments of the kick cable all started working, even better then with the stock Mopar kickdown setup.  It stays in great longer.  In the past the car would shift through the gears and I would be in third at around 25 MPH.  Now it stays in second gear until I get to around 3000RPM's.  Which is great if i am racing but I think there might be something wrong??  After driving it around for a while I headed home.  Pulling up into the drive way i heard this clicking noise from the transmission I think.  Is it possible to have too much pressure on the kickdown on the trans?  Meaning I adjusted it to fare the other way?  Would that cause the trans to make such a noise?

Here is a picture of the setup completed.

After taking the car for another drive, I figured out that the noise was the new kickdown cable hitting an exhaust pipe.  I did more adjustments and it is running better than it has since I moved to Colorado.   Thanks everyone for their help!  By the way, the Indy Intake is great!  I really like it!  If anyone buy's one plan on using an aftermarket kickdown linkage.   :drool5: :drool5:My next project, get my TTI's headers out the box and install them!  Can't wait!

Thanks again!

Nice work Eric  :2thumbs:

I'd like a pair of TTI's myself!  Although I'd really miss the header banging on my steering column.... :brickwall:
