Ok, so apparently what I said earlier is true; the upper boot is the same be it console or non-console, correct? Are we talkin' the same language? :eek2:

Guess I'll have to start looking for an OE/NOS lower boot. What year did they start? Was it '66?

gtx6970

I have this one 2996454 ( only one ) NOS -This is the upper boot that attaches to the bottom of the forward half of the console applique on console cars . I've seen these avail in the repop market but appear to be 2 pieces, meaning the rubber is not vulcanized the ring . IMO - this may cause an issue down the road as the rubber shrinks and pulls out from under the ring

Ok then my hand is staying down. I'm sure lots of people would be interested though.

next is pt # 2950074 - lower boot without console - I know it's 68-69, but am uncertain if it's also used on the inland shifted 66-68's

Both with the exact same pt# and vender code on the ring

Bill,

Depending on when these come out and what the price would be, you could put me down for one.  I think mine is getting dried out the last time I checked.  Right now, money is tight but that should  be hopefully changing with some overtime that I just worked.

Brian,
I want to pull the trigger on this , But trying to open my own shop at the same time has money tight here as well.MY CFO has tightened the purse strings just a bit,and I'm ok with that .
I have a ground up assy 1970 Cuda  project coming in but this car will be done in about 3 or 4 months. I really would like to get my hands on a full blown restoration. Although I would prefer one, It does not have to be a mopar. I've got a couple of cars in negotiations , but no done deal yet. So,,,,,,,,,Any takers ?

I will make a decision on the boot in the next week or so to either procede or back burner it for a bit.
IF I procede I can have them in hand in about 30-45 days from the word go. As it stands right now I think I can stay in the $85-$90 range , anything less isn't cost effective and anything more I feel it prices it out of realistic reach for most .Best of all I can proudly say that from initial prototype to final production, it'll be 100% made right here in the USA. The ideal situation is if I can get 25-30% of the 1st 100 presold ( not paid for - just commitmants) I'll move forward with it.

Thanks to all for chiming in so far.

I found a boot among my shifter pile o' crap but it appears to be for an A-body. :shruggy: What's it doing here?

Well, I don't have anything that looks like that. I do have what's left of an upper boot and a new lever boot but no lower boot. Oh, and I have an A-body boot. :P

So Dan, do you know what years of B-body cars used that lower boot? No that I'll ever fine one but...

I have an original upper and lower out of a 69 I can post pics of. I'll try to remember to take them tomorrow. I also have a non-console 69 4-speed I'll take a pic of as well.

And I would really like to know if it's the same as hurst shifted 68's

Curtis, I'm guessing the '66 through early '68 B-bodies used them.  :scratchchin:   :P   :Twocents:

Here are a few pics Bill. The one lower and the 2996454 upper are both originals out of an Oct 68 built 69 B-Body. The other upper (2660394) I have had kicking around (NOS) and it looks identical to the other. Hope this helps.

Well now, Now you have me thinking , was this flat boot actually used in production.  :shruggy: or is/was it an over the counter fix it part number.
As I can't find the part number listed anywhere in pt's books

anyone got a used original in the flat style I have shown?

the factory print,  I have listing this boot is for a 70 model
