Ive been looking at my rear springs  :o  They are heavily corroded and pitted (like everything else on the car). Question is, do i strip, blast and restore them, or do i fit new. Are any of the new ones factory correct?

The car is a 440 rt/se, so extra leaf one side.

Roger, I just went through this with my springs.    I vote for keeping your originals...clean & paint & re-arch if necessary.

I tossed my orig Hemi springs for a repro set from ESPO....while the function is correct the form is not....yes they are biased like originals were 6L/7R but the clamp orientation isnt correct.

I went with a new set from Eaton.  They were pricey, they look good but I don't know if the clamps are where they are supposed to be.

Thanks. They are heavily pitted with rust, so will never look new, but i guess thats better than an incorrect repro set

Unless it is a survivor or going to be a correct show car go for functionality and get a new set.

I have a 73 SE unrestored survivor, springs were saggy and rusty,   NOS ones cost @ $900, I had mine re arched added 1 leaf, repainted  at a fraction of the cost,
and with the new KYB shocks, my car was lifted near 2" in the rear, looks good and ride and handling vastly improved

I had just one leaf replaced at a local spring shop.  They said that was all I needed and they were right.  New bushings as well.  Rides and sits great.
