How common was F6 with white stripe and interior for Daytonas?....

Just wondering,
"In the wild," since I was a little kid I have not seen another one.

I remember once in either Vermont, New Hampshire, or New York we were going along the interstate in our 69 Daytona, and say another wing car going the opposite direction on the other side of the interstate.  It was not the same color as ours, and I do not know if it was a Superbird or Daytona.

Honestly, from then until now, the only other wing car I have seen in the wild is a Superbird someone brings to work on occasion.  I am not counting car shows as in the wild.

This pattern is not my favorite color for a Daytona, but it is a fond childhood memory.
As you can tell from my other post on this section, the child hood memories of this car and desire for one have made me desire to build one.

I have personally seen 2 cars in real life with the F-6 white interior, white stripe combination. Both are 440 autos also. I'm pretty sure neither is the car you are talking though. Also pictures of a couple more. I believe they made 43 F-6 cars total.

I have a friend with a 440 4-speed with white interior/stripe... Gorgeous color combo....

Thank yor the additional information.

It is Vermont route 112,
definately in Jacksonville, VT.

Any record for the smallest town (village actually, Whitingham is the town) to have had a Daytona owner?

The Mason Dixon and Larry Bell car are the same. Now in Ohio.

nascarxx29

.Yes thats old Larry Bell and Mason Dixon 409060 car which was a 4 sp no console. car I found another recorded F6 daytona in the early records with white interior.Recorded as Gary Lazars and is the same car currently owned by Pete Veight.Which is known to be the F6 green interior F6 green playboy daytona??And I ve seen on other boards dicussions about the playboy daytona authenticity.Which I have no comment on it being it or not being it .Just sharing what I seen written about the playboy daytona.

OK Dave,.....I've heard Pete recently lay claimto his car being the "playboy" daytona,......but some time ago, 5 yrs? perhaps, I was contacted by a retired eldery gentleman,....I can't recall the name, I believe he was a Dr http://wwnboa.org/specfeatbh.htm  . also was an original daytona owner, F6, white wing car,....that was stored years ago in his garage, and the garage was renovated over the years, into a living room, with the Daytona being the main piece of "furniture"  on display for several decades,....they had to remove the wall, to remove the car, he and his grandsons were going to freshen up the car with a engine rebuild, repaint, etc,....extremely low miles car,....he said he purchased a set of NOS fender scoops from you, Dave B. for $1000,....I sold him some repro headlite accesories to recondition his lights to make them functional again,.......he claimed he needed the scoops because his car never came with them,....I debated with him on not adding them, if his car was truly the vintage "playboy" ad car, which he insisted it was!, but actually felt it was more of an insult, that his car was referenced with Playboy magazine, he said he didn't want that kind of fame associated with his car....that where I left off with him,

When I saw Petes car last year, I remarked to him that it looked like the layboy" car,....he replyied that it was?.....so I questioed him as to the fender scoops?...he said he added them, and had no response as to my question of "why?".....he said he had the car for "many" years,....but wouldn't elaborate as to how long?

So Dave,.....who really has the "playboy" car?,....what criteior was used to determine that fact?......I know you've heard the story of the F6 daytona that was incapsulated in the house,...most have by now,.....plus the one "story" that I've heard quite a few times is that a handful of early press release Daytonas were rushed out without fender scoops, 3 of the supposed 5, were F6 cars?...with white or black wings?.....more than one supposed "playboy" car?....perhaps, or some "false" claims to fame?.....whats your thought Dave,.......

When I met Gary Lazar back in 1979, he sold me my first yellow `bird (177570) which is NOT on the Nascar list.  He showed me his F6 Daytona that had one green bucket and no door panels but had green headliner, dash and console.  There was a pair of white buckets laying in the back seat area.  He said he was going to change the car to white interior.(He also said he would NEVER sell the Daytona.)  He must have told Monroe Schellinger that the car had white interior, hence the wrong color listed with the club.
He also tried to pass the yellow `bird off as a sixpack car. The vin had a "U", but the registration and title had a "V"!!!  Fast forward to 1984 and I sold the yellow `bird to buy Gary's Daytona.
Gary showed a photo album with about six Broadcast sheets in it from various wingcars and a 500 he owned.  I think he still has them.  He lives in Boca Raton, Fla., but he wouldn't return my call or letter I wrote him.             Wingnut

69 DAYTONA

#409060 Daytona...

...purchased new at Goeke Chrysler in Noblesville, In. by a friend of mine, Phil Roberts of New Castle In.

...salesman is also an old friend of mine, Bruce Winningham of New Castle, In.

...it was serviced new at Goeke by an old friend of mine, Bill Baker (deceased)...Bill did a 360 burnout in the parking lot before taking it in for new car prep

...Edsel Winningham (service tech and brother of salesman) and Bill Baker took the car out for a "test drive" and paint started coming off the nose and sail panels at top end...car was repainted under warranty

...it was delivered new with a cracked tail light lens...Mr. Goeke gave Phil an 8-track player free (installed) to compensate for the cars problems, and a new tail light which was still in the box when I purchased the car in 1980

...it was delivered new F6/white interior and a black stripe, 4-spd, no console

...it was photographed several times by Nicky Wright (world famous photographer, now deceased) and was in numerous magazines, coffee table books, calendars and several toy companies used Nickys' artwork for toy packages

...most of the photo sessions were done at the New Castle Indiana airport, an early one was done in Hartford City by Nicky Wright with Rick Cains Yelo HEMI Superbird

...is still pops up in new Muscle Car Books every so often, Nicky made the car famous

...I was the 2nd owner, I paid $9K for the car with 10,427 original miles on the odometer, Phil sold it to me on credit and gave me 1 year to pay for it, I paid it off in about 7 months

...I sold the car to the 3rd owner, disc jockey Mason Dixon (Jimmy Crawford) in Tampa Fl., in 1988 and purchased a HEMI Challenger RT/SE with the proceeds...found out the HEMI Challenger was the first one ever built, JS29R0B100015 and had been a Car and Driver Road Test Car (Nicky made it famous too)

...Mason Dixon sold the car to the 4th and current owner in Cleveland Ohio...last time I saw the "Green Weenie" (my wifes' name for the car, she hated it) it had approximately 26K miles...during the years I owned it, it was driven 15,000 miles...I took it to shows, used it as a daily driver, used it as my sales car on occasion and it also double as my service truck from time to time, I repaired Coca-Cola fountain equipment and the car was nice to work out of

69 DAYTONA

...I picked up the Goeke plate on Ebay :icon_smile_big:

...my son and I at a Chrysler Openhouse ...Chrysler was announcing the new 1984 Daytona and asked me to bring the old Daytona

...2011 MOPAR Nats...me, my son and my grandson reunite with the "Green Weenie" once again...we both got bigger

Glad the plate was a cool piece. That seller had many others fom various dealers

looks like lots of them from indiana dealerships. i'd search through the listings for one from rushville, but don't have a nose cone to bolt it to

btw... larry's 1984 photo might have been the last time that he wore long pants.

...funny story...at that open house a really old couple walked up to my Daytona, both were using walkers and I was pretty nervous watching them...finally, the old lady leaned over and looked at the reproduction window sticker in my Daytona and said, "look Charlie, it is a new '69 car and they haven't sold it yet"...they both stood back and looked it over for quite some time, maybe deciding whether to purchase it or not...finally he said he didn't like the color and they toddled off
