I found this charger sitting and was wondering what you guy think it's worth in this condition? the motor is gone and replaced with a 1971 440 magnum motor with the good exhaust tips, the car does not run,  buldge hood which has a good size dent in it, roof rusted through in numerous areas.

Got any pics of the car itself.  I would say non matching 73 Charger, motor needs help, needs roof so guessing the rest of the body needs a touch as well...under $1200 and that is because it has that hood.

I'd like to see the rest of the car, interior shape.

that roof is major surgery, and how much rain has gotten through it to the interior over the years??

it would be handy if you had a couple of wide angle views of the exterior and interior. FRom what I see though, looks like a fun project if you can get it cheap enough to afford the roof repair work and whatever engine work is needed. The not running is the part that would scare me. IF the motor is shot, that would be a big expense.

It's pretty crusty looking to me, unless it's a car you really really want and are willing to put the time, effort, and money it will need to restore it, I think you'd be better off looking at it as a parts car.  You will need to get an honest estimate of what parts you think are salvageable and a realistic goal of what you think they are worth with your time to strip and store factored in.  Add that number up and deduct a reasonable profit and thats what you offer for it. :Twocents:

Along with what the others have said, the valve covers, or at least one is off. If water has gone down in there, you're looking at a major rebuild at the least. There was a one owner, 85k mile 3rd generation from Texas on ebay a while back with a $6900 buy it now and I don't think it sold. It was on craigs list for a while. You're looking at more than that to get that car back up in shape.

You can buy motorhome 440's for $300 to $600 in running condition. You could patch the roof and cover it up. If all you're wanting is a nice driver, Offer him a couple hundred over scrap and see what happens.

But like was already said, that would be a fun project.  :yesnod:

Unfortunately i don't have and interior pis except for the one i posted or any body shots that would help. He's asking $1500 which i thought from the beginning was to high them thought about parting it out and i really don't want to go in that direction.

Foreman72

well people pay 1k for just a bulge hood... :shruggy:

i dunno...i bet he could get more parting it :Twocents:

Let me expound.  $1000ish for the bulge hood and $200ish for the car because of the tips on the exhaust.  Still want to see more pics if possible.
