Odd car show happenings!

I've been to a lot of car shows over the years and have seen some pretty strange results when it came to the award winners.  I'll share a few that I remember:

At a small show a few years ago I won 2ND in my class and also Best in Show. :shruggy: :shruggy:

A mopar show had a large raffle for some nice wheels and tires.  They had been selling the tickets for about a month before the show.  When the club president got up to draw the winning ticket, it just happened to be his. ::) ::)

Went on a cruise/show that had mopar / chevy / ford and truck classes.  They had one really cool trophy per class.  I had the only mopar other than an old truck (owed by a club member) in the truck class.  When I started to walk up to get my cool trophy they announced that the truck had won. :shruggy: ::)

I once arrived at a show too late to park with the rest of the mopars.  All the mopars were stuck away in a forgotten corner lot.  I did not deserve it, but I won my class.  I guess a lot of people never bothered to search out the rest of the mopars and just voted for me. :smilielol: :smilielol:

Went to a show last year and arrived at 11:00 AM.  The flier stated that voting was to take place between 12:00 and 2:00, but the club gave out the voting sheets to the people upon arrival.  Most of the people had voted before I even got there.  I would have won my class if I had showed up earlier. :brickwall: :brickwall:

What kind of goofy things have you guys run into at shows or cruises?

A local car club put on a show a few years back that turned out to be their second last.  They had been putting it on annually for a little bit prior to the one I am talking about and each year it grew.  The final show was their biggest with a lot of people paying to get in, a lot of high quality cars and a lot of classes so there was something for almost everyone.  There were cars from towns 50 miles away.   When award time came, all of the members of the club got an enormous trophy just for showing up.  Then all of the rest of the awards went to club members or close friends.  The next year they held it again but the only ones who attended were members of that club.  No one else bothered.
