This ties in directly to the rocker panel thread I had.  This is another pic but it's from the car that is getting restored.

Ghoste

No guesses from that image?  Here's another teaser.

Ghoste

Alright, here are two more.  It's all I have for now but I'm sure that someone will recognize it.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Is that Speed Racers prototype car?

What's the story?

I thought that car was last seen scooting across the sands of Saudi Arabia or something like that?  :shruggy:

Or am I thinking of another car  :shruggy:

Another one with the man himself. :coolgleamA:

Well, i'm just finding this thread but i recognised it straight away.. Is THAT?! IS THAT!! why it is... AMT made a model kit of that one among a series in the early '60s, very cool, very... what's the drivetrain?..  :popcrn:

Ghoste

Slant six with Hyper-pak.  That was the reason for the offset bubble in the hood.   The common accepted cid was the smaller six and that was what it was originally equipped with.  Virgil was disappointed with the performance of the original engine and so he had the larger 225 installed.  Everyone believes the car is supposed to have the 170 but there is proof existing for the swap to the larger engine.

 It was in Kuwait.

Virgil Jr. was in a couple of weeks ago.

I'll be taking more pics as it goes along.

Kuwait!  AH HAH!  I knew it was somewhere like that!

Virgil senior was a design genius, he designed several of my favorite cars.

I'll be following this thread closely.

I just saw this thread....and wanted to be the one to say what it was...but got beaten to the punch, considerably!
But I still want to say it: It's the XNR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would be interesting to find out now if this is why Saddam invaded over there & why there's still a big mess going on in that part of the world.

Yes, it's also the same one that my buddy took a piece of the old rocker panel off of and mounted to a plaque for me for my birthday.  A piece of the origianl XNR now hangs on the wall in my garage although no one will ever know or believe it.

Nice.
How many people can say that?!
I wish Linda V. gave me something to drape on the wall...

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I sure wish some Mopar people would add that to the MoparWiki on the XNR

That was an important car that led to the A-Body Valiant and Lancer

Look at the side view of the car -- the XNR inspired the Valiant and Lancer -- and the Slant Six was built for both cars -- so they could have a low hood line.
