I just got around to polishing my taillights and was wondering what should all be black.  I have two different sets and one set is black all the way around the outside of the lense while the other pair is not.

Should it be all black on the outside like the top one in the picture or should just the overhang on the inside be black like the bottom one??

I have two sets and mine are just black on the inside but, I've seen them both ways. Not sure why.  I'd like to know too.  :popcrn:

Mine are unrestored and I guess black on the upper side only.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

What year are the taillights?, i see the one on the bottom of the pic is off a 70 Charger. The top one looks like a 69? Maybe that's the difference.......

They are both '69 taillights thats just a reflection on the bottom one that makes it look like the reflector from a '70.

So is it that some got blacked out all the way around and some didnt and its just another mystery of how mother mopar worked or what??

This is the same issues I'm running into with my 69 only with the silver stripe on the lens. My originals are trashed. I was thinking about buying new lenses from Van's but they don't have the silver stripe. First pic is my original and the second is the new ones from Van's.
