Yeah, just saw it here: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/39743395/ns/today-entertainment/

He's done a lot of different things, but Happy Days was probably his most famous role.

RIP Tom

One of the local Milwaukee AM talk radio stations I listen to, interveiwed Henry Winkler about Tom Bosley, and it was somewhat emotional listening how the "Fonze" was praising the man, and talking about him. He will be missed  :'(

Wow, she was 66 years old. I think the first time I remember seeing her in a movie was when she did Silver Streak with Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder. I loved that flick when I saw it in the theater when I was about 13 or 14 years old. I thought she was pretty hot looking for an older woman back then.

Blake Edwards, Prolific Comedy Director, Dies at 88

By ALJEAN HARMETZ
Published: December 16, 2010

Blake Edwards, a writer and director who became a Hollywood master of screwball farces and rude comedies like "Victor/Victoria" and the "Pink Panther" movies, died Wednesday night in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 88.

His publicist, Gene Schwam, said the cause was complications of pneumonia. Mr. Edwards's wife, the actress Julie Andrews, and other family members were at his side at St. John's Health Center, Mr. Schwam said.

What the critic Pauline Kael once described as Mr. Edwards's "love of free-for-all lunacy" was flaunted in good movies and bad ones: in commercial successes like "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961) and "The Pink Panther" (1963) — the first of a series of films starring Peter Sellers as a bumbling French policeman — and in box-office disasters like the musical spy extravaganza "Darling Lili" (1970), starring Ms. Andrews.

Mr. Edwards's last major success, "Victor/Victoria" (1982), was a farce about a starving singer (Ms. Andrews) who pretends to be a homosexual Polish count who performs as a female impersonator. Mr. Edwards received an Academy Award nomination for his "Victor/Victoria" screenplay, which was adapted from a 1933 German film written and directed by Reinhold Schünzel. It was his only Oscar nomination. But he was given an honorary award by the Motion Picture Academy in 2004 for his "extraordinary body of work." That work spanned more than four decades.

Bronx Music Man Don Kirshner Dies at 76

I grew up watching Don Kirshner's Rock Concert late on Saturdays nights. And he also put together "The Monkee's", which, yes, they are one of my all time favorite bands.  :whistling:

I didn't realize, or perhaps forgot, that he was behind The Monkees. I liked them too. The Midnight Special was a good show also, with Wolfman Jack.

RIP Don.

I remember watching this guy when I was just a youngin.

Jack LaLanne dead at 96

American fitness guru Jack LaLanne died Sunday afternoon at his home in Morro Bay, California, according to his long-time agent, Rick Hersh. He was 96.

The cause, said Hersh, was respiratory failure due to pneumonia. LaLanne had been ill for the past week.  His wife, Elaine, was at his side, along with his family and friends, Hersh said.

I saw this, this morning, it's sad. I remember watching him on TV as a kid back in the 60's. I doubt I exercised with him, but My Mom said it might have been that he gave you the impression that he was speaking directly at you on his show, is what got my attention.

One of his quotes is great..... "I can't afford to die. It would wreck my image."

RIP Jack.

I'm old enough to have seen Harmon Killebrew play, & remember as a kid not being happy when he came to bat for the Twins when they played the Yankees.  :o

With quick hands and exceptional upper-body strength, Killebrew was known not just for the frequency of his home runs but also for their great distance. He hit the longest measured home runs at Minnesota's Metropolitan Stadium and Baltimore's Memorial Stadium, and was the first of just four batters to hit a baseball over the left field roof at Tiger Stadium.

The guy was a great home run hitter that had a lot of power.....R.I.P.

Harmon Killebrew, the Hall of Fame slugger for the Minnesota Twins, has died after a battle with esphogeal cancer.

Killebrew, 74, had announced last week that he was entering hospice care, saying, ""I am comforted by the fact that I am surrounded by my family and friends. I thank you for the outpouring of concern, prayers and encouragement that you have shown me. I look forward to spending my final days in comfort and peace with Nita [his wife] by my side."

Killebrew, who was drafted by and played two full seasons for the Washington Senators before their move to Minnesota, died at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz.

"No individual has ever meant more to the Minnesota Twins organization and millions of fans across Twins territory than Harmon Killebrew," Twins president Dave St. Peter said. Killebrew's legacy, he said, "will be the class, dignity and humility he demonstrated each and every day as a Hall of Fame-quality husband, father, friend, teammate and man. The Twins extend heartfelt sympathies and prayers to the Killebrew family at this difficult time."

He hit 573 home runs over his 22-year career, ranking 11th all-time in the majors. He hit 40 or more home runs in eight seasons, tied with Babe Ruth for second most.

"I found out early in life that I could hit a baseball farther than most players and that's what I tried to do," Killebrew, whose silhouette inspired the Major League Baseball logo, said.

Sylvester Stallone's son died at the age of 36.  :o

This reminds me of something my Mother once said years ago, "There's no way I want to live long enough to bury my own kids."

I like a lot of Stallone's movies & can't help but feel bad for the guy.

http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/sage-stallone-eldest-son-sylvester-stallone-found-dead-002545563.html

Sage Stallone, Eldest Son of Sylvester Stallone, Found Dead at 36

Sage Moonblood Stallone, the 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone who starred alongside his father in "Rocky V," was found dead in his Hollywood apartment on Friday.  The New York Post confirmed his passing with his attorney George Braunstein.  Sources tell The Post that he likely died of an overdose of pills, and that a representative of the LAPD stated, "There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity."

Sage Stallone was Sylvester Stallone's eldest son from his first marriage to Sasha Czack (they divorced in 1985).  Sage is survived by his brother Seargeoh, and his three half-sisters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.

Sage made his film debut playing Robert Balboa, Rocky's son, in 1990's "Rocky V" when he was 14 years old.  The film was both a critical and financial disappointment, with Sylvester Stallone telling The Sun in 2010 that the reason he made the sequel was "I'm greedy — what can I tell you... It was a mistake because the audience didn't want to see the downside of the character. They wanted him to remain on top."

Sage also appeared with his father in 1996's "Daylight," but that year also saw him give up acting to be one of the co-founders of Grindhouse Releasing.  Along with his partner, Oscar-winning film editor Bob Murawski, Sage Stallone's company restored and re-released forgotten exploitation films from the 1970s and '80s. Grindhouse Releasing partnered with Quentin Tarantino to bring Lucio Fulci's horror film "The Beyond" to screens in 2010.

Reportedly, Sage turned down the chance to reprise his role of Rocky's son in 2006's "Rocky Balboa" to focus on his burgeoning career and a director and producer.  The character was played in the sixth film by Milo Ventimiglia (TV's "Heroes").

Sylvester Stallone has not yet released a comment.  Just yesterday the elder Stallone appeared at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA to promote his upcoming action film "The Expendables 2."  Stallone was joined on stage by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who makes his first appearance since leaving the office as governor of California in the movie.
