Just wondering what most guys like for the ride height and wheel/tire combos? Stock, raked or modern?

Stock and the modern mildly lowered/bigger wheels. Don't like the '70's completley jacked in the rear look at all

i think all three of those shots you posted look great bull

personally, i like a 1" drop in the front and 1" hike in the rear, only to fit the 15x10 wheels with huge rubber...

but there are many cars, esp muscles where everything about the car is spot on except the stance...spend time getting a mean stance...like this (even tho i think this is stock...but you get the point

)

I hate the "Dub" look with the really big rims on any car.

I like the 70's hot rod look or the lowered pro touring look. Stock chargers, espicially 3rd gens, were to low in the back and tires were to skinny, didn't look right without fattys and a rake. But they really come alive with a more agressive stance.

What make of rims does mr. angry's 68 have? anyone know? and size.

I need to move the back tires I have to the front and get fatter ones in the back.

How do you guys go about it as far as rims go? like how big do you all have the fronts and how much bigger are ya'lls rear rims? OK the last two words sound awful out of context, yikes.

It's all personal opinion. That 3rd Gen... I wouldn't change a thing as it looks perfect with that stance and I think bigger wheels and tire would only detract from it. A 2nd Gen though, in my opinion, really benefits from a larger wheel and tire combo as the car is simply "big". Although with the right stance... ala Highbank haulers car, 15's work perfectly.

Stock wheels and tires - for the most part - were typically meant to be tossed as they looked (especially on B-Bodies) like ice skates on a rhinoceros, especially those skinny red lines. "High-jackers" are nearly single-handedly responsible for giving Mopars the goofy hillbilly reputation that its still trying to shake today (i.e. "That thing got a Hemi?"). And while the pro-touring look is all the rage with Popular Hot Rodding, and quite a few Mopars have been able to pull off the look, the end result ultimately doesn't rest well with the street and strip spirit of Mopar.

I would like to offer the following fifth option:

A little bit of a rake works for me. Too much is bad and we did get a little carried away in the 70's (makes it kind of hard to pick on the ricers for the goofy things they do when you think about it), but a little rake is aggressive looking to me.

My preference is with the car setting level (stock height) with 15 or 16 inch rims and good sized meats on all four.

But some cars look good with big and littles if set up right.

I've always hated the stink bug look, never did see any sense in the over sized shackles in the rear and the High-Jacker look.

I prefer the Modern Low Ride height and larger than stock Rim size, typically Rim sizes in the 16-18 diameter with modern performance rubber...... and a few performance suspension mods makes it easy to take advantage of the performance modern day radials offer.

The jacked up look and tires sticking out is too 1970's, it just doesn't look right to me...

I put Calvert +1 split mono's on the other week but I forgot to get pix... Ok.. it's been raining so much I couldn't take it out of the garage either. I like it.
Tank is almost empty... I figure with a full tank and a bunch of junk to go to Carlisle this weekend it'll be fine!

Oh yeah... less squeaks and groans than the old R/T springs and about 50 lbs saved.

I gotta say - I haven't seen a bad pic yet. I takes a lot to make these cars look bad.

I personally like a about a 2" rake - this way the car is always going downhill.

I know there are people who dislikes GL's, but I love the stance of the car in this "before" shot... The wheel/tire combo is nice with the 295's in the back and 245's up front.

Love the way a darker colored 2nd or 3rd gen charger looks with stock type black steel wheels with no hubcaps or center caps. A little lower and/or some rake also looks not bad. Wider tires in the back look good as well as long as they are tucked in the wheel well.
