This Grandma has put over 540,000 miles on her '64 Comet.  One funny part is that she always bought lifetime warranty on replacement items like mufflers and batterys, and she has had several replacements for free..

There was a little old lady that drove a 68 Satellite 4 door by my old house when i lived in St. Paul.  She drove it year round and just this spring i saw a 68 Satellite for sale on craigslist and after reading the description i knew exactly which car it was.  I didnt buy it but i did see it driving around 2 weeks ago with a couple younger guys driving it.   :popcrn:

I used to be a service advisor at the local Chevy dealer. There is a customer that came in there, he was a regular. Has a 2001 Chevy 2500 Express Van. The first time  i walked out to get his milage, i almost fell out of the seat. 680,000 miles is what it said. This was back in 2006. I was just in there last week and asked the service manager about him. He said he was in the week before and just rolled over a million miles. His odo stuck at 999,999. Wouldnt go any further.

Yea, I got a good chuckle out of that and her "Insurance Policy" for an old lady out on her own.

That is an awesome story, and an awesome lady. It's also a testament to how long a can last if well cared for. Hell, my 95 Crown Vic hasn't even hit 150000 yet and it's nowhere nearly as nice as that Comet.

The lifetime warranty thing is funny as hell.

Mr. 4-Speed

there was a guy in my town, who was giving driving lessons with a 1990 Mercedes 190 diesel. Car went out of service when it drove 1.000.000 kilometers, that is about 650.000 miles.
Engine and manual tranny were never taken apart.
