50 years old is not old... Especially when I'm only a couple years older than he was. He looked like he was pretty healthy too, especially when compared to 50 year old Michael Jackson that weighed 125 soaking wet.

Early reports say he hit his head when the plane he was in blew the front tires while landing. He complained to his wife he was not feeling good the night before he died.

Now, a few weeks ago Brad Whitford, guitarist for Aerosmith banged his head while getting out of his Ferrari. He started getting severe headaches, went to the doctor and ended up have emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain and will miss the first part of their current tour.

So I guess there's a lesson to be learned in all of this.

Well, I guess we really will be having a moment of silence.

mikepmcs

Yup, he was a really good pitchman.  He really looked excited about the product and I'm sure he made millions for those companies he worked for.  Hope they reciprocate for his family.

i doubt they will, they got their money's worth out of him now they will move on. i would be amazed if they did anything for the family...... it is like the band members of the titanic...... after the ship sank and everyone died the company sent the widow's the bill for the suits the band members were wearing the night of the sinking..... what a screwed up world we live in.....

Isn't it possible something actually fell out of the luggage hold and hit him on the head while he was seated and belted in.

Ok, hears what I know.

Billy Mays is the brother in law of the owners of the restaurant that my younger daughter and son in law work at. They recently shot a commercial at the restaurant and aired it on "PITCHMEN". The restaurant is called "RIGATZI'S. Great Italian food. Especially for Florida. (All Florida knows how to cook is fish). Anyway, it has been all over the news here as Billy Mays and his family live here in Tampa and the jet that blew the front tires on landing also happened here. Everyone on the jet reported the exact same thing. They were landing, and as they touched down the jet started shaking violently. Stowage compartments were popping open and things were flying out from all of them.  Billy Mays was filmed by a few different news stations saying he had been hit on the head by something that came from the compartment above him, but he wasn't worried about it as (I HAD A VERY HARD HEAD).  That night he complained about not feeling well to his wife. Then went to bed and he never woke up.

They WILL do an autopsy to find out exactly why he died. He was reported to be in excellent health other than a failing hip that had once already been replaced.

My son in law was cooking while they were making the commercial and said that Billy was a really nice guy. Not full of himself as his roll is on TV.

It doesn't matter how we felt about Billy. What matters is that yet another father, husband, son, friend and family member is gone and way too early in his life.

RIP Billy Mays

I never got the impression he was arrogant or a jerk or anything like that. He seems like a nice enough guy. However, I think many people (myself included) just got quickly annoyed with his voice.

BTW, now they're saying he died from a pulomary embolism (heart attack) that had nothing to do with a knock on the head.

His annoying voice and energy is what sells product. I know what you mean, Bull. I agree. But they use a guy like Billy because he is just the opposite of the boring guy that doesn't sell anything. If they used a hot chic in a 2-piece, you would never remember the product.  ;)
