What are the symptoms of a bad front wheel bearing, or bearings? I am getting a whine (sounds like 4x4 tires) at speed.  :shruggy:

Thanks.

You will sometimes get a nice howl or whine from one side while turning, sometimes all is good when going straight. Also to check you can jack up your front end, grab the wheel by the top and bottom and pull/push if you can move it a good amount your bearings could be bad.

Pinion or axel bearings are a possibility. At speed shift into neutral and see if the wine changes.

You could be loosing cords in a tire...it makes a rumrumrum kind of sound at 40mph or so.

Right. Does it happen during braking, accelerating, free wheeling, etc.? Does it become higher pitched the faster you go? That will narrow it down.
